    In regards to the age of Hoid: I listened to the audio, and I distinctly heard that Hoid is older than the Shattering of Adonalsium.

    I honestly think that this is one of the last things Brandon Sanderson would do. He writes the stories that he wants to tell, and I doubt that soothing shippers is on his list of things to do.

    Note that all of the Shard's Intents are verbs or actions. Based on this, I would say that Logic wouldn't be possible as an Intent. However, Reason, Revelation, or Obfuscation are possible. Brandon has said that if Alcatraz were Cosmere, the Shard would have been the Shard of Self-Contradiction or Self-Betrayal. Based on that, there might still be a Shard with that intent somewhere. But... I doubt that he would use it since he already used some of those ideas in Alcatraz.

    Splinters are also (usually) sentient, their minds having spontaneously arisen from the unheld Investiture. Except in the case of Divine Breaths. Which is odd, because Brandon classifies them as Splinters even when they aren't sentient.* ...Or are they? *starts theorizing madly*

    When your first reaction to your chemistry TA's name (Sanaz) is "Ooh! That's a proper Vorin name!". And when you're slightly worried that you won't be able to get into Firefight because you've gotten used to the 17th Shard's version of the Calamity stricken Earth...

    That last few Quota/Timeport posts have made me wonder if we have some psychotics in here... And I ironically really liked Mr. Meh. What about Saccharine/Pheonix? I'd say they're pretty much on par with each other.

    Adonalsium is the only source of Investiture, and we really don't know of anything else in the Cosmere that functions like Investiture, so I would venture to say the no civilization would ever be able to create a new power of Creation without using up the one that is already present. It's analogous to figgledygrak and balderdash, to quote Hoid.

    Granted. But every post you make, you realize someone has already said what you said in some way, shape, or form, so that you feel as if you have no original thoughts. I wish for a shirt that had a moving, changing Pattern on it.

    Does it have to do with Sazed? I get this sense that it does, but I don't have the books with me... Happy New Year everyone!

    What if this is pointing to Slivers? Kelsier returning, anyone? Someone controlled the power in between when Leras died and when Vin took it up, and he basically functioned as a stronger sliver than Leras did. (My usage of the word sliver is probably not in tune with the canon definition, though...)
