  1. Alivened romance novels.
  2. Dead week and final's week are both characterized by constant drizzling and you internally refer to both collectively as "The Weeping" (a name I don't entirely see as appropriate, but many of my fellow students do).
  3. Vasher's little doll in the prison?
  4. Technically, Spook's real name isn't mentioned in book...
  5. Leras/Preservation
  6. Yes. That was what I was looking for!
  7. There's nothing that makes this place an excellent location to hide your grandfather. It's not as if the hint is "A good place to hide your gold" and the answer is "A Swiss bank". Perhaps the "answer" is closer to "a thieves' tavern"
  8. It's a bit more subtle and obscure than that.
  9. There is nothing about this place that is conducive to hiding your grandfather.
  10. Not Shadesmar. This location never shows up onscreen.
  11. Nope. But you're in the right Shardworld.
  12. It is Cosmere. The initial hint can be interpreted two different ways, but only one is correct...
  13. There are some spren which are of Adonalsium himself/itself, from when he/it came to Roshar pre-Shattering. There's WoB on this, but where it is... I'll look. Here it is!
  14. When your first reaction to grass that just popped up within the last few days is "Lifespren!" And you're slightly worried about the highstorm that's coming. No, it's not a high storm, it's just heavy riddens. But they're coming. 5 inches in three days. Gack. When you use the word "Gack!" all the time and you don't realize that it's really weird.
  15. My favorite story for character's sake is probably The Way of Kings. Yes, WoR was awesome, but it just didn't carry that same... beauty that WoK did. And Dalinar... I really like him. *emphasis* However, my favorite book as a work is The Emporer's Soul. It was an fast read the first time through with a lot of suspense and interest. However, it has a lot of beauty to be considered. Its insight on the nature of art and beauty is really thoughtful. Yes, it has a Hugo Award, but that's not why I chose it. I didn't even know what the Hugos were before I read it. But it really struck me. It's artistic, and that's something that I don't often see in fantasy. Oh yes, there's beautiful prose (see Patrick Rothfuss for one, who I haven't read enough), but when a story itself communicates wisdom through well crafted circumstances such that you understand with the characters; that is when I stop and see beauty. That is rare talent. As much as Brandon may be philosophical and, to a degree, religious in his writing, no other story matches the concise beauty that this story gives.
  16. When you say the word "sparking" in a completely electrical context and then wonder if you might have offended someone.
  17. When you start wondering if, in the movie Elf, Santa is a spren, since he grows in power as more people believe in him.
  18. What is Marsh doing? Is he with Saze in this new era? Or is he trying to get Hemalurgy back on line? Gack! I wonder if the survival Shard was shattered. Makes me sort of sad, though. I sort of liked him/her, even though we didn't know anything about them.
  19. But what I really want is a Cryptic. I don't care about the Surges or the Shardblade, really. I just want a genius, buzzing, pattern-happy spren with me.
  20. Hmmm. Use it to kill my live lobster without having to worry about slipping a knife into its brain. Edit: But then again, I've never had to cook lobster. Aha! I'd use it to open all of that annoying plastic packaging! Who needs a utility knife anyways?
  21. A place to hide your grandfather.
  22. Ghostbloods
  23. Sneezespren- Long, white and bright, these spren are extremely fast and are seen flashing towards people who stare at the sun after coming out of a dark building. It is thought that these spren may be a subset of surprisespren or ticklespren, but as no one has been able to study them enough during their short period of expression to draw any definite conclusions as to what they are related to.
