  1. Happy Birthday, Dragon!

  2. Very true (and I second wanting to see an actual Dragon form on screen), but to be clear, I do not equate Tanavast with Elithanathile. We have seen several instances of inaccuracies from the folks on Roshar, not the least of which include instances of Jezrien being incorrectly identified as the Stormfather. Alternately, if we were to adopt the stance that Tanavast and Elithanathile are the same, we could also say that a Shard could appear as any race, depending on the audience. We have definitely seen Odium appear to Dalinar and Taravangian as a human, but to Venli as a Singer.
  3. I'm not sure what I expect his role to be, but I've been feeling more and more that El is a shortened version of a much longer name... The one that keeps swirling around in the back of my brain is Elithanathile, who has also been called "He Who Transforms" which sounds very much to me like a Fused name. Could it be that the Almighty wasn't human after all?
  4. I know that this is a pretty long stretch, but could Nohadon and Dalinar be the same individual (or at least Spiritual echoes of each other)? The epigraph for chapter 26: "I continued on my way, contemplating dust and the nature of desertion. For I, as king, had walked away from my duties, and it was different for me. Had I not renounced a throne the Almighty had granted, and in so doing, undermined my very own words? Was I abandoning that which was divinely given me?" A king walking away from his duties sounds a fair bit like the internal struggle Dalinar has been having, trying to decide if it is right for him to seek an advantage by entering the Spiritual Realm despite the risk of not being able to return in time for the Contest of Champions. The timing of this epigraph also comes directly after the final decision to take that step. As we are always being reminded, "all things are connected in the Spiritual Realm", and Brandon has been very dodgy about Nohadon's identity.
  5. Has anyone heard whether the schedule of events will be made available prior to Worldhopper Ball tickets going up for purchase? It would be wonderful to be able to plan around overlaps with anything else when having to select a session.
  6. We’ve seen the key before- on the Hoid mousepad from the Year of Sanderson boxes. In that image, it appears to be part of a clasp for his cloak.
  7. Isaac and Dan have been working secretly on a duology - Isaac's previously-discussed "Boatload of Mummies" and Dan's top-secret sequel "Trainload of Daddies".
  8. My belief is that the method pointed to in RoW was in chapter 115, when Shallan opened the metal cube containing the Seon Ala. A cube of (I believe) aluminum would temporarily interrupt the investiture of the CS, allowing it to be brought off-world. Once that has been accomplished, it could probably be released without severe consequence.
  9. Absolutely - I definitely agree that the Diagram (organization) had been disbanded prior to Taravangian's Ascension. I suppose I over-simplified my initial statement... I was more wondering if Taravangian had used his experience with the Diagram (experience and texts) to put something more mechanical/self-regulating in place to meet a new need or purpose (perhaps something akin to Deep Thought, from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). Creating something like this with the knowledge/power obtained when he Ascended could be a way to achieve a result without having to focus on the task (whatever it may be).
  10. Absurd theory? In SA5, Kaladin encounters Moash and hits him with such supercharged lashings that Moash is launched into space... Moash soars through the inter-planetary space in the direction of Scadrial... Resulting in the first line of Mistborn era three : "Moash fell from the sky."
  11. I have been pondering the Grand Apparatus since it was dropped on our radar, and have begun to wonder whether it might have been constructed by Taravangian as an outgrowth of the Diagram. I haven't developed any definite thoughts on what purpose it would serve (or what the cosmere implications would be), if this turns out to be the case, but wondered if anyone else was thinking along the same lines and might have any additional thoughts to share.
  12. Happy birthday!

  13. Happy birthday!

  14. I was lucky enough to get the Hoid response that Argent alluded to, though on a re-listen, I'm not sure if it's as plains-shattering as I initially thought. The question was"Does Hoid have any [blood] relations other than his parents," with a response of "Hoid have any like, direct blood relatives? Umm... Okay. In the book when I wrote it before, he didn't. Dragonsteel isn't 100% canon any more, so that will possibly change, but he did not, and there are none in my mind right now. He is an only child as I have him. It's unlikely to change, but I do have to asterisk that one because I haven't written Dragonsteel yet." Having moved on to another question, Brandon came back with, "Oh, no! He had a little brother. He did have a little brother. Even in the original. Yep, he did." When all is said and done, I'm not certain what the canon version will end up being.
