  1. Alright, I found a WoB that is almost this. (emphasis added)
  2. As similar questions in this vein got answered with: "you're assuming Nightblood is not Allomantically inert" I am somewhat sure that he has also given this answer in regards to Shardblades, but I cannot find it at this moment. I can, however, find 4 separate references that consider Nightblood as a Shardblade (1, 2, 3, 4), so the "may not be viable" should still hold up for a Shardblade.
  3. We'll have to see about the timeframe of breaking the Parshendi bonds and/or the Recreance (hoping we learn more in Oathbringer) but otherwise, not too bad of an idea
  4. I remember the entry that Yata is talking about, and I believe the one you posted may have been a newer version of it.
  5. Bondsmith-esque Reputation. Bondsmiths are the guys in charge of the KR, so the Patron of Bondsmiths could conceivably end up "in charge" of the scattered Heralds, especially in light of Nalan's drooling comment about Jezrien.
  6. Please do, it'll be an interesting discussion. You can even quote the post you just made as part of your theory evidence
  7. I am now officially imparting my first Occam's Razor. Shardplate and Stormlight share a similarity in that they both augment the user's physical capabilities. We know that Dalinar has more than likely subconsciously drawn in Stormlight before(his shoulder) and we know that Kaladin did this multiple times. As the quote @Fulminato provided implies: Shardplate enhances the wearer's speed somewhat. Dalinar could've subconsciously drawn in Stormlight in his rush to go protect Elhokar from the Chasmfiend, and the enhanced speed provided by Stormlight added to the boost provided by Plate(which makes sense for KR to have yet another thing going for them against Thunderclasts) This could account for his notable Speed events unless there was a spot where he was tremendously fast but not in a sense of danger where he would draw in Stormlight. I don't have a real counter argument for his Plate knowing which way is up, but there may be something about the traction of his Sabatons. Rough surfaces that seem to cling to rock? Could this simply be the natural consequence of a rough surface(friction/drag) but enhanced by the mystical properties of Shardplate? (I realize that you could consider this as evidence towards it being Dustbringer/Edgedancer plate, but I feel like this should be something they can all do, since sure footing is always important in battle)
  8. Lift has Abrasion actually. Windrunner have Adhesion, which doesn't actually equate to speed(that's what basic lashings are for)
  9. This would certainly be an interesting twist. I think its viability depends on how long they've been public figures. The Heralds don't exactly seem to get older, at least not very quickly, so that might get noticed if Sebarial has been Highprince for decades. Palona is only his mistress, so there is a chance that she hasn't been involved in the court for too long, and she appears to have a lot of authority in his Warcamp... I like this idea.
  10. By all means make it a theory. Even if you don't have much to work with at the start, several good discussions have started from a simple "do you think that..." post
  11. Brandon has RAFO'd if he was bound by anything other than personal honor. (twice I believe) We've never asked how an Oathstone works. In the first Rysn interlude, non-truthless Shin Warriors are described as having similar stones of some sort. This may be a clue, or just to show us that Oathstones are part of normal Shin society.
  12. I opened page 1 first, so I linked to your post there. I'll edit accordingly. You are correct, unless Brandon sees fit to change the exact time-gap, but for now it's 15 yrs. The OP asked about when the worlds start to cross over, and used MB Era 2 and SA 10 as an example. FTL won't exist for much later, so Roshar will have advanced much more by then. We won't really see much of it unless he pulls another Wax&Wayne on us, but that's another story for another time(and one I would definitely read )
  13. Up for debate. All we know is that the 16 made a weapon, it still exists, and Odium knows about it. RAFO on if he has it/has used it/knows where it is, etc.. I don't think we've even asked Brandon what is does yet.
  14. As someone will inevitably point out, Brandon has since stated once and for all that Adonalsium's opposition was the Original 16 Vessels. (They weren't shards at the time, several of them are still around, this weapon is an unknown, but Odium knows about it)
  15. While the timeline bit is semi-accurate(all we know is that MB Era 2 is after the Front 5 SA books, but we don't know if it is also after the Back 5 or not), it doesn't mean that only MB is going Sci-Fi. Brandon has said that Roshar is heading towards Magipunk due to all the free-floating Investiture.{1} Nalthis doesn't seem to have too much conflict, but we'll have to wait for Nightblood(Book) to learn more. We do know there is already at least one nation that uses breath powered objects for mechanical use, so that's something.{2} Sel has about 1,500-1,800 years of societal advancement from Elantris(Book) before it reaches MB 2 and SA with little to no Shardic interference, so they've got a big head start.{3} Taldain was the most advanced until Autonomy decided on isolationism, so they've got just as much of a head start as Sel does, if not more.{1} Mistborn is going into space by Era 4. We have no idea how big this time-gap is going to be, but that's even more centuries of societal advancement on all fronts. There's no guarantee that they will all be at the same level, but they will all be getting up the tech tree in their own way.
  16. Back when I tried to make a map of an area for a story thing, I started with regions and cities and worked downwards/inwards, so I'm a proponent of sorting a Geographical Glossary by region/nation. Kinda like this: The Magic Terminology section could probably be alphabetical unless you have lots of Fire specific terms, Ice specific terms, etc.. because that could work better as separate entry sets like the geographical one. If you've got a lot of general terms and not very many Element specific terms then making it all one big list should be fine.
  17. Basically, Brandon has always referred to him in some manner of "the man who calls himself Taln" and the community is divided on the truth of the matter. I think he really is, some people think he isn't, others think that he was, etc.. ask six people, you'll probably get four different answers
  18. I remember an entry about TLR giving Shai 100 days to turn a Iron Hemalurgic Spike into a Steel one, and it basically boiled down to she could do it, but TLR would need to provide a boost of Investiture for it to work. I don't remember one about changing someone's metal type, but I would imagine that it'd be fairly similar
  19. Second WoB The Sovereign posted mentions that Splintering is not permanent, so technically speaking yes there is a way. That doesn't mean that anyone (on the Forums or in the Cosmere) actually knows how to do this, or if anybody in-world has the power to do so, only that is can be done. You can find all manner of speculation to this effect on here if you look for it(some of the ideas even make sense )
  20. You act like that somehow makes it worse
  21. I remember people complaining about how brittle real-world obsidian knives were, so maybe that's why. An Inquisitor Axehead is wider than a knife and should chip rather than snap. As for Bone, given that Kandra are not exactly "common knowledge" per se, I imagine that using bone for knives was considered a bit morbid. (I know you could just use bones from livestock of some sort, but the whole thing gets lumped together)
  22. Vin used glass knives in Book 1. Kelsier points out the broken one she dropped on the ground when he tells her that you don't have to make hand-motions to steel-push. Elend stabs Jastes with an obsidian knife in Book 2. Granted, he wasn't Mistborn at the time, but I believe it was "the knife Vin gave him." We do not know whether the glass knives were clear glass, but I imagine that they would be, since the alternative would be stained glass of some color. Even if they were stained black, it seems a bit convoluted/out of place to me. Long story short, both were used but I do not know if obsidian ones were a recent change that Vin decided to do after TLR died(a year did pass after all)
  23. We know the reverse is doable, so I imagine that this is also possible.
  24. Basically only reason why I added him being Skaa in my post was because I noticed that last minute. I'll strikethrough that in my first post
