Oversleep made a thread yesterday trying to do just that. I personally lean towards Taravangian being wrong.

Brandon is on record stating that he imagined his lie detector ways to be a byproduct of having interacted with people for so long that he's just memorized all the little tells. Body language experts on earth can accomplish much of that in mere years/decades, and TLR's had centuries. MB1 Annotations As much as I don't like the "Nalthians are all Savants" thing, there is a big difference between the two as you are invested by holding Breath, but you are not invested while not burning Metals. The other difference is that you can only be invested via metals while being active, while holding breath is passive investment, so I agree with it needing an active component. i am also fairly sure that Brandon has said that Inquisitors almost had to become Savants to be able to see, so I would consider Steelsight as valid.

The bullet itself, yes. The actual round of ammunition, however, is more akin to Weltall's response. The case, the powder, the primer.. As has been brought up before by Yata, gunpowder by itself is hilariously useless on Roshar due to the propensity towards very rainy Highstorms. You would need a weapon or ammo that can withstand being in the rain for extended durations for it to be of any use.

"Upending an Entire Mercantile Ecosystem"
The One Who Connects replied to Obnoxiousspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The WoB provided by Extesian doesn't mention the Geodes, so I feel that I can quote myself from a different thread again: As much as I don't the idea of something other than the pool itself being the Perpendicularity entry, this is the only explanation I would accept as reasoning for why it isn't. The majority of the Shardic essence is the actual Pool, but the elevated geodes raise the.. "center of gravity" so to speak. A worldhopper would perhaps emerge in a cave say 15ft above the pool. With the geodes destroyed, the center becomes the pool again, which is buried and a death trap. -
It's got a lot more going for it than you'd expect. He was able to resist the call of the Beyond because of Preservation: SH Spoilers His soul is permeated with residual power of Preservation. Any Ruin that was added with spikes should pale in comparison because stapling essence on shouldn't have as much of a change to his soul as being permeated by that essence

Do the Hearlds bond with spren??
The One Who Connects replied to DustBringer94's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm heading to bed, so I'll grab sources tomorrow, but: Honor was still alive when the 9 Heralds abandoned the Oathpact Honor died far before Taln returned(somewhere around the time of the Recreance) The Oathpact isn't broken yet, as Taln is still a participant Edit: I'll grant that Honorblades being something like condensed Honor and the Heralds being able to draw Investiture directly from him implies some sort of greater connection though, so props for that. -
"Upending an Entire Mercantile Ecosystem"

I would consider an alternate cave pathway to the pool itself, but then that shouldn't have been destroyed when Kelsier broke the Pits... -
Was this actually confirmed? i know it's the most likely suspect by a long shot, but I haven't read up on that discussion recently

The reason the "plague" is so frightening.
The One Who Connects replied to Calderis's topic in Stormlight Archive
It's there in the "Axies the Blighted" Yay, I remembered something useful -
I don't have a solid answer, but personally, I think Taravangian may be in the wrong here. He went to the Nightwatcher after Gavilar's death, so much of his study and clandestine activities may not have been in operation when the Thrill actually started, and since they can move, he may have noticed his first Death Rattle in Kharbranth around that time as Moelach started moving east with the discovery of the Parshendi. To quote the Diagram: "It [The Desolation] can and will sit where it wishes." I see no reason to believe that can't apply to the Unmade as well.

The WoB regarding the Plague was posted earlier by Crucible Additionally, consider that in the absence of valid examples(generally healthy bunch), the definition will be different.

"Upending an Entire Mercantile Ecosystem"
The One Who Connects replied to Obnoxiousspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I remember an old discussion about a possible typo involving stolen Nobleman food having something that is made from fruit(not ketchup, um..) and Scadrial apparently doesn't have fruits. Don't know if Brandon decided it was a typo or not, but this could solve that problem. Either way, I like the idea. We get so caught up on the magical that we forget about the practical. -

Cough.. Wayne cough.. In all seriousness, I believe someone pointed out Wayne mentioning that his cold would come back after he stopped healing or something to that effect. It's absolutely this. To quote myself from an hour ago: -
If a kandra were to have feruchemy and/or allomancy
The One Who Connects replied to Conatus's topic in Mistborn
This is amazing. And thus, Kandra will learn the "do unto others before they do unto you" proverb and become Leechers themselves for safety -
I highly doubt it would have happened, as TLR would keep bringing some into Luthadel to run his economy and keep the Nobles begging for more. That and it should take a long time to deplete any significant portion of the power of a God. But by technicality, this is possible.

That's on me for overlooking the simpler way to do something again... But now it's a discussion of if eight feet sounds reasonable for 45lbs being thrown the way Adolin tossed Kaladin, as opposed to the normal way of throwing.

Adonalsium's magic system?
The One Who Connects replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Cosmere Discussion
He also took potshots at someone for calling Awakening a science under that criteria -
Other discussions linked back over to here, so apologies for the partial-necro, but as was pointed out to me before: The Shalash Interlude is in WoK which, pending a WoB, puts it chronologically before Taln showed up.

Taln is Taln minus one thing
The One Who Connects replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Stormlight Archive
Long story short: Discussions about Aesudan(and Jasnah hiring Liss to tail her) Spoiler tag to condense quotes Which led to Calderis' topic that Fulminato posted above -
To add to what Oversleep said: People have been bedridden with the cold before on Earth. If 5-6 people all came down at once, you'd be worried regardless of the general health level, no?

Regarding the origins of the Heralds: have this Regarding Stormlight, refer to Calderis's post

[Edgedancer Spoilers] Bridge building
The One Who Connects replied to CaptainRyan's topic in Stormlight Archive
You definitely aren't imagining it. I remember that post as well(not that I can find it, but it had a source to a page full of WoP's.) Speaking of which, here's the source. There's all manner of interesting things there that I'd never seen before. (The WoP about the Bridge is Q15, but I haven't the slightest idea how to link directly to it, so I'm at the closest default subheading(Q17)) -
If a kandra were to have feruchemy and/or allomancy
The One Who Connects replied to Conatus's topic in Mistborn
You can pierce a Coppercloud with strong enough power, so "immune" is relative. It would definitely help, and that's actually a pretty clever idea -
Out of curiosity, do you mind linking it? I actually don't think that I've ever seen that one before.
