The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Left replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
There's a new lifeguard in the guild, and he showed up a good twenty minutes early to relieve me this morning. Best thing ever. -
Physics 1, Macro Econ, Human Geography.

Do you need to create a a Buffy thread Twi? Seems like there's enough people who have watched or are starting to watch it with you. Also, I only have one more AP exam to take!!!! Three out of four complete. Just gotta kick Micro Econ's chull.

If someone were to design a personal hell for me, there would be a section that was lawn mowing themed....

Porco Rosso is my favorite Ghibli I think
-
I love that film! One of my favorite Ghibli's and yeah, very weird. But it's so darn cute, and it makes me feel so happy

Flash and Legends got better this week! That's great Flash Arrow!!!! Legends

Update: Finished M:SH. It was really good. I guess I pretty much had figured out everything that happened through WoB's and unfortunately just absorbing tidbits about it here on the forums. Still really enjoyed it.

Yeah it's the first ebook I've bought too. I haven't paid attention to who's less careful about spoilers, it's just kind of an osmosis issue.
-
So I finally got Mistborn Secret History. So far it's really good, but I wish I'd gotten it sooner so that I knew less of the spoiler stuff beforehand. There's just been no way to avoid all the SH spoilers on the shard... I'm still working on Otherland, hopefully I'll finish by the end of the month.

I'm from the Midwest, and I agree with Joe. Those might be the proper words, but I would shorten them when I used them in real life.

Ehhh, I still disagree. And I don't think we know enough about what she's studied to be deciding if she's researched enough or not. If she felt like the real world mythology wouldn't be quite appropriate to her story then she may as well write her creature's backgrounds differently. Nobody throws a fit when Krampus is a weird adaption of its origins, and rarely do people care about how badly western entertainment reshapes Asian mythology for its stories. I don't see how it's different.

But this is America, we do stuff differently, why would our school clone Hogwarts 100%? As for the Native American creatures...Isn't that a good thing? I mean, they're creatures native to America. It'd be weird if they Europeanized our animals, and I wouldn't like it. Maybe the Wizarding community in America integrated with Native American wizards far better than the muggles did. I've got zero problems with it. If the creatures are considered very holy, I at least understand how That could be an issue to some people, but otherwise I'm good.

I love Darths and Droids, but that's about it.

So I thought the movie was okay. I had some problems with cinematography and plot holes and the pride of both teams. Black Panther tho.... Aside from maybe Green Arrow, I think I have the most respect for him out of all the super heroes of late. He's really amazing....just wow. So I could rip into parts, and praise others, but don't really feel like it. The theater I saw it in was FREEZING. So I took off my jacket, and used it as a blanket and snuggled in with my date. So thaaaat might just have been the highlight of the movie for me

Tongues of serpents is definitely Bad, but I thought that Crucible helped pick it up a little, and Blood was honestly really good. I don't think it's necessarily gotten as good as the original, but it's definitely better than the mid series.

Come on over to west central Ohio, it's crazy here. All four seasons and every kind of water falling from the sky in a single day. All the time. Ughhhhh, I hate it. -
I love the Imager series! There's slightly more tension in later books, but yes, mostly they aren't very tense. ....Eww, You should skip A Cat Among the Pigeons. It's one of her most boring. I like Mrs. Mguinties Dead, and Death on the Links.

I finished The Promise, the sequel to The Chosen by Chaim Potok. Dang one of my new favorite authors. I didn't connect as personally with this book as The Chosen, but I think that it was also the better book. Which is weird, I don't normally like one thing more than another but say the other is better So I've also re-listened to Bands of Mourning, and am halfway through re-listens of The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto and WoR. I'm going to be getting back to Otherland now after my break for Potok.

So....Flash.....Remind me again why all the characters are so stupid? I mean....Really, Barry just keeps being dumb or making huge mistakes, and the whole team is just cool with it. Really frustrates me. Arrow: Give Lance and Diggle a hand! Those two were amazing, pure gold. If I had been a Laurel fan I might have liked the rest of the episode, but mostly I just enjoyed those two characters. Legends: Dang it!

I think your one step away from overthinking it, which means right now you're right in the right spot! Good luck, hope it goes well. -
I'm taking a break in the middle of the first Otherland book to read The Promise by Chaim Potok. It's the sequel to The Chosen, which I read about a month ago and absolutely loved. I'm not sure what I think of this book so far.

I sincerely doubt you'll regret it, it's probably in my top ten animes, top five in the action anime genre.
