  1. And so on and so on and so on and so on, all the way down to the subatomic level. I hadn't considered that, but now I kind of want to make it canon.
  2. I thought about posting a picture of myself reading as my profile picture, but I thought that might be a bit too racy.
  3. I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
  4. I was definitely thinking that the hats could be used to assert individuality. I'm still debating whether it'll be possible for adults to go in and have their heads changed. Basically I'm thinking of this like a population-wide version of the footbinding inflicted on Chinese women a couple of centuries ago. Except with stylish top hats instead of deformed feet. It's got to be my destiny... Because it's what my feather hat is telling me.
  5. Poor lost TwiLyght.
  6. Today I had the random and slightly disturbing idea of a society that surgically augments the skulls of newborns so they can wear specialized and fashionable hats when they reach adulthood. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with this idea, if anything.
  7. I agree it's best to wrap up this day so we can start moving forward with other things. Also, we'll have to be careful not to let this retconned-in Epic get in the way of settling all of our other characters; there are a lot of new players in The Dalles who need their characters settled in and worked into story arcs.
  8. I was going to ask how The Dalles has access to such strict security mechanisms, but then I remembered Arsenal. Cool. How long ago would he have been put into confinement?
  9. I like him. Would his personality be lifted straight from Metal Gear, or would you make him an original character?
  10. That makes sense too. Should he be a close acquaintance of anybody in town? One of Autumn's patients? Game's old medical mentor? Weeks' partner agent? Make him female and have her be Vondra's ex-wife?
  11. Actually... that is a pretty awesome idea. Considering the attitudes of Epics like Deathwish and Glamour though, to have been kept in solitary confinement all this time he'd have had to do something pretty awful.
  12. As much as I'm in favor of this kind of insanity, I'm afraid if there existed such a team built around a gifter it would have been mentioned by now. I'm not against introducing such a character, though.
  13. I'm trying to imagine that rule applied here... but I stop when I imagine a rules-mandated immortal Nighthound.
  14. And if it does, contact NASA right away. This might be our ticket to interstellar travel.
  15. (Just FYI, I think this would do better on Creator's Corner. More literary-minded people would see it and comment on it there.) Time progression and gravity... to me, those two together bring together the image of an exotic alien rainforest. The air warm and moist, the trees having mastered control over gravity to grow as high as skyscrapers in our world. Seeds could burst into fully grown plants the instant they touch the soil, the ability to progress time fully inherent within themselves. In our world jungle plants harness the laws of physics in many myriad ways--it makes sense to me that plants in an enchanted setting would evolve to use the magic system of their world to carry out their life cycles. That's just my humble two cents, though.
  16. Those all would work pretty well. I don't suppose that middle one could be shortened to "Who wants pancakes?" ?
  17. I ship it like the Wandersail, baby.
  18. I don't know what Epic!Phineas would be like, but I can tell you that the Fireside Girls would be awesome enough to make the Reckoners look like regular girl scouts in comparison.
  19. Twi's at the climax of the book now?
  20. Our cabin is very large but divided into just three living spaces and no personal rooms for a family of seven. I write my posts every day with my insane little siblings running past me every other minute screaming at the top of their lungs. Point is, I can empathize with you but I've personally long since given up the idea of privacy.
  21. ... Darn. Maybe I should have gone with "Fig" as his nickname afterall?
  22. I made an Epic loosely based on this Silver Age Superman power TwiLyght informed me of on another thread. He quickly became a character with shades of both the sterotypical nerd and conspiracy theorist, with the voice of Bubble Bass from Spongebob thrown in for good measure. Prepare to be blown away by the awesome power of... ...Figure Fervor. ("Ferv" for short.) I have no idea whether I'll ever use this Epic. I have no idea whether I should.
  23. Hi, and welcome to the RP! I like this guy, but I confess I'm a little concerned that he may be a bit overpowered. Any one of the powers his Keyboard Shortcuts give him would make for a powerful and game-changing Epic all on its own--all of them together would make him one tier below Calamity himself as far as powerful Epics go. If you limited him to maybe about three of those powers, he'd be awesome and well-suited to the RP.
  24. Hate to break it to you Shiny, but I don't think you're getting "petted" tonight. Served with a restraining order? Probably. But not petted.
