  1. Khione + Lightwards? What if he tried to argue that she owed him after letting the Unicyclist run amok? Or failing that, is there anything he could offer her in turn in exchange for an army? At the moment CorpseMaker has him severely outgunned.
  2. So... if Funtimes can create simple biological machines like her kittens, made of flesh and blood but with absolutely no intelligence or autonomy... ...how would she react if Lightwards asked her to make him an army of saber-toothed caribou with rainbow-colored manes? (serious question.)
  3. The thing about undead caribou is that they'd actually be the perfect army for him. Very low intelligence + large bodies makes them easy for him to control in large numbers. If he were to somehow acquire a few hundred caribou skeletons, he could do quite a lot with them.
  4. What characters was I supposed to do?
  5. I'll try to get that sometime today.
  6. I had a minor heart attack when I opened the forum this morning. Was anything in the last couple of pages directed at me or otherwise important? Because to be honest I only skimmed them. Also, Orange Crush is the best. Any idea who you want him to meet next? There are a lot of new Epics gathered in a clinic where they're about to be evaluated by a resident, there are two Epics making their way back into town after their convoy was destroyed, there's a small battle going on in the downtown area, and there's a very angry High Epic handcuffed to a lamppost in another part of town.
  7. As a religious treatise I'm inclined to disagree with this. I think the biggest difference between our beliefs is that I believe that there is only one True religion, which is incompatible with the all-including doctrine presented in this piece. Which is fine; it doesn't offend me in any way, and I'm quite happy to coexist with our separate ways of thinking about religion. As a short story, this is beautiful. It reminds me a lot of the animist concepts I came across when worldbuilding one of my settings. I adore the idea of stars, planets, and the Universe itself having souls, being capable of communicating or trying to communicate through the cosmos. So while I can't say I'll be adopting this particular cosmological headcanon as my own, I can say that this was a beautiful piece of writing that made me ponder reality in a different light than usual. Take an upvote for a work well executed. I'd be delighted to read more from you, if you have anything else to share.
  8. Well he's played by Lightsworn Panda, so...
  9. Here's the setting summary: There are a lot of new players who have wandered into the city as random and unaligned Epics, but hopefully that gives all the essentials still.
  10. There's a summary of current factions I could try to dig up for you, if you want.
  11. Do you know anything about the current political structure in The Dalles?
  12. Pokemon are pretty much the only ones I'm familiar with, so I'll be voting for "Other Pokemon." Eeveelutions are the best.
  13. That sounds... well... Utterly insane, but awesome and right up our alley.
  14. TwiLyght's directions aside, try posting on the Question thread. It's basically the same thing.
  15. You make it sound like Backtrack won't get a chance to meet that pretty girl from the 1830s.
  16. You should ask your question from a while back, about whether the fear of losing a loved one is a valid fear. (Not that you should change anything even if the answer is "no.")
  17. New AMA responses: Mailliw: Can an Epic be given powers that are permanently countered by their weakness? Ex: Being able to breathe underwater, but whose weakness is water? Brandon: I'm going to say no on this one, unless the weakness is something more specific. (I.E, you can breathe under water, but your weakness is water with food coloring in it.) The weakness can relate somehow to the powers, but not in a way that if every time you use the abilities, they're automatically negated. And also: Winter: What are some of the more common powers, then? Brandon: I based this off of comic books, so I assumed classic comic book superhero powers--various forms of flight, invulnerability, control over various types of matter, energy blasts--are common enough to have "standard powersets" for research purposes. Basically, this means that people like David and the loreists can make references that readers with a familiarity with comics can understand. Kobold: Is there any chance we could see the lorist categorization system published someday? As a sort of Reckonerverse Ars Arcanum? Brandon: This is possible, but likely only if I come back to the world for more books beyond the original trilogy.
  18. Sorry, all my opinions are hiding under the covers in mortal terror right now. Ask again later.
  19. Amputee made quite a living for himself, and all it cost him was... ...an arm and a leg. Sorry not sorry
  20. Well, four times he could I suppose.
  21. Wait. Do you mean the severed limb will grow a new Amputee?
  22. I think that would put us on a very slippery slope that would probably lead to TwiLyght going mad with power and inserting pugs into every RP post ever.
  23. It took me way longer than it should have to realize you were talking about the parenthetical comments to Venture and not actual RP posts where characters were acting strange. I really need to get some rest.
