  1. There's a reason it's called the long game, lol.
  2. Definitely. It's going to take books four and five just to get Alethkar back.
  3. Sorry. This has taken far longer than I thought it would. Too many interruptions. I don't know something you don't. I just don't think it's a good idea for your first post in a game to claim you are an eliminator, especially in your first game, when it is immediately followed up with (paraphrasing) "Don't mind me, I do this all the time, I'm just kidding." People get into the habit of brushing it off, and when she in an eliminator, she gets a free pass because, well, she always jokes like that. My vote at the time was on Joe, someone who only had one vote them - mine. It is day one, and with no real suspicions other than what people say and do in the thread. Do I think their jokes are bad taste, not because they are bad jokes, but because they can cause villager complacency? Yes, especially when included with a claim that this is something that is going to occur in every game that player takes part in. If that happens, people will become complacent to it, and Kidpen will have quite an advantage when she is an eliminator. I only shifted my vote to Kidpen when both you and she ganged up on me. This pushed me into the danger zone of potentially dying in the first cycle (and who wants to die in the first cycle? No-one, right?), so I shifted my vote to push one of the people voting on me into the danger zone to increase my chances of survival. Tell me you wouldn't do the same? I can respect that, and I don't really want to either. As you say, it's her first game and that would be rather unfortunate. I'll remove my vote from @Kidpen if she is willing to remove hers from me. That will put us both back down onto one vote. As I explained above, the only reason my vote is on her, and not still on Joe, is because she voted to put me into the danger zone. It is about 8.15pm here now. I will be heading to bed at about 11.30. If she retracts during that time, I will do the same before I go to bed. I might consider retracting it anyway if others end up with two or more votes, purely because I agree with Mraize, but for now, the vote stays. Edit: I really like the tagging feature for trying to get someone's attention. We didn't have that in the old days.
  4. This just gave me a great thought. What if you are right... sort of? In OB we see a big shift in Alethkar's leadership. Dalinar in now King in Urithiru, Jasnah is Queen, and Adolin Highprince, with Shallan backing him up. The Sadeas Princedom may as well be gone - Torol and Amaran dead, and Ialai disappeared off to who-knows-where (but I suspect she is going to be Jasnah's biggest protagonist as Queen and will try to stir up rebellion among the other Highlords, but that's another point entirely). Not to mention that suddenly, a lot of the Kholins now have access to magical powers. Now, along comes Adolin, master dueller and sword whisperer, and suddenly (more likely after long and arduous tasks), Maya is reborn. A miracle that suggests Adolin is more than meets the eye (he turns into Optimus Prime). I can see the Kholin Princedom (once things are settled with the Singers) becoming a place of learning, where Adolin teaches others about their Blades, the Radiant schools they are from, and encourage along the change of Alethi society from selfish idiots with too much power to something better. All by taking advantage of those idiots and their selfish manner - they come to the Kholins for power, ad instead Jasnah, with Adolin being the frontman, experiments with massive social engineering. I know this is just another mad theory, but I think it could be fun if it turned out that way. The biggest flaw I see in all of this is that the people coming to Adolin aren't the ones that he should be focusing on to uphold both his personality, and Maya's Radiant oaths. Maybe instead his school could be for the poor and downtrodden in the hopes of guiding them into becoming Radiants.
  5. See, Mraize, now you do have reason to join in the Kidpen voting Also, Straw, why the vote for Honey Badger? And STINK Imperial Mint, why the vote on Straw? Was it as simple as he forgot to include the Imperial part of your mintyness? Edit: Mraize, RP is sort of an ongoing, optional, thing throughout the game. And yeah, I RP when I have something I think will make for a good write up. At the moment though, I have nothing. Feel free to tag me in RP though, I will respond
  6. I hope it's accurate, I copy/pasted it and added my vote onto it... Perhaps I should be asking, can I trust you..? Also, yes, you can most certainly trust me.
  7. Of course you agree with that, Elenion was defending you. Which makes me wonder, why? And as for stacking a second vote onto me for what I think are rather flimsy reasons, thanks, but no thanks. Joe. Kidpen. Edit: Sorry, was trying to reply to Kidpen, not Mraize. Edit 2: Updated vote list: Kidpen (2): Pyro, Bort Araris (1): Joe Steel (1): Lopen Badger (2): Wilson, Straw Straw (1): Stink Bort (2): Kidpen, Elenion
  8. I actually agree with you, for the most part, but I do seem to recall an eliminator using that exact tactic in one of our games from years ago. I'll admit though, I might be remembering it, or I might be remembering talking about someone doing that. Besides, it's the first day cycle of a long game, no-one has any real suspicions yet, and I suspect we'll see a few more poke votes before the day is done. Edit: Oops, sorry for double post.
  9. Daoate let out a sharp gasp at the Imperial Mint's words. Had he really just referred to himself as just "Mint" and left out the "Imperial" part? Shockingly minty fresh. Also, does anyone else really want to see the Imperial Mint get stabbed? I do, if only so we can start using Polo jokes ("Polo: The Mint with a hole").
  10. I just wish there had been a follow up line during Adolin and Shallan's wedding scene. After the ceremony is complete, Pattern could have announced, "Congratulations. You may now mate!" in front of all the guests.
  11. Ok, day one suspicions... Kidpen, for his very early eliminator claim. Dangerous move, playing it risky regardless of his alignment. If he is village, then he is making a bad joke. If he is eliminator, he is hoping it will be assumed to be a bad joke. Also, he claims to "always claim to be an eliminator," but having never before played alongside Kidpen, I do not know how true this is. Can anyone who has played with him before chip in on this? Young Pyromancer, for his very early cycle SHOUTING... Don't shout that early on please. Some folks are still in bed A Joe In The Bush, for his DensiTea pun (oh, and his discussion of 'the doc'.. Only a mind as twisted as a Jeskeri could come up with a pun that terrible. (Side note, well played Joe, brilliant pun). Drake Marshall, for his and Joe's references to their 'doc'. Granted, I suspect they are just trolling us all, but that could just as easily be the point. We dismiss them as trolls, where they are counting on that, and so manage to sneak under the radar as we concentrate on other people. Steel, for his comment about the Jeskeri making no point. Joe should be on the list for this too, but he is already here for something else, so that's really two marks against Joe's name now. Out of these five, it wouldn't surprise me to discover that one of them really is a Cultist. Probably just one of them though. I might be back to change this by the end of the day, but for now, Joe.
  12. Dalinar was Odium's first choice champion. There is nothing to say he has to be Honour's champion too.
  13. This has so much potential. I really hope Syl ends up with a small flock of semi-sentient Windspren to herd around with them.
  14. Daoate sighed. While he didn't think much of Seinalan, the man was a Patriarch, and it had happened on his watch. Despite his watch technically being the gates of Elantris, and not the Royal Court. Still, it could be a good opportunity for promotion, if he impressed the right people. Now he just had to figure out who they were... Oh, and find a murderer as well. The stocky, but near-silent guard began his rounds, quietly collecting together the names of the attendees, and quickly ascertaining that no-one was claiming to know anything. Why did days like this always seem to happen to him? He poured himself a glass of wine and set to work. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll be back on later when I'm more capable of thought for thinking, but right now I need sleep. I didn't get enough of it at the weekend.
  15. I see your point here, but we have precedent that not all Highprinces have to be descended from Sunmaker - Amaram. Sadeas' wife basically makes him Highprince, and so far as we know, he's not of Sadeas' line.
  16. That was a great post. There were so many in that game
  17. Actually, I think I may have been thinking about this the wrong way. I had considered that it could be Odium corruption on other worlds, since we know he has a thing about killing other Shards, but red and gold would be corrupted Odium, not Odium corrupting others. Corrupted Odium makes more sense, possibly plans he had set in motion that had failed when another Shard co-opted his troops, essence, Investiture... With Miles, and his line, I seem to remember a WoB about Autonomy influencing Scadrial, or maybe it was just speculation on here. It made me wonder if the 'men of red and gold' were some kind of allied force between Odium and Autonomy.
  18. Why do you think I did it? Are you referring to my time in Elantris in the last Shadows game? If I'm being honest, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The exploration factor really added something to the game. Plus, I got to kill that annoying Priest and had my triumphant, final return just in time to die. If you mean my time away from SE, then I kinda wish I had stayed. It's a fun game, even when you have no idea what the storms is going on.
  19. Because, if the Sibling is the Spren of the earth/land/stone, I can imagine the shattering of Stormseat and Natanatan would be pretty damnation painful. Either this, or Aimia.
  20. Not really. It was the similarities between Sebarial and Ahan that struck me. And if Ahan is married in Elantris, and is with Palona in Stormlight, then why not have her as the Kandra?
  21. Red and gold, as a colour combination appears everywhere in the Cosmere, and I've been driving myself nuts trying to work out a connection. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, if you find any more red and gold sightings, please share them here. Warbreaker - Lightsong's colours are red and gold. W&W Mistborn - From Miles: "The men of red and gold will come for you..." (or something along those lines, just before his last scene in Alloy of Law. - Miles' cigar packet. Stormlight Archives - Highprince Hatham's colours are red and gold. -Sadeas owns red and gold Shardplate (or at least, it used to be gold and is now red). These are all I can remember for now, but it keeps appearing.
  22. You may be right, but I thought it could be fun speculation.
  23. Why Kas, I didn't think you'd remember me
