Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
Bort replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Funny that. Orlok has been in the player list for every other cycle. He's just missing from this one. No reports of a death, he's just gone. @randuir - Some mistake?- 406 replies

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
Bort replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is fair. I wouldn't consider me hard cleared either. My vote on Elandera was a joke vote, although distancing had nothing to do with it. I was originally planning on shifting it at the end of cycle one, since I usually wake up about half an hour before rollover. The main reason I didn't was because I hit snooze on my alarm, so didn't get up until just before rollover. By the time it rolled over, I was still too sleepy to think about someone else to vote for, so it stayed put. So, like I said during last cycle, it just goes to show you should never insult tinkers. Back to this cycle, for now my vote will be going onto Walin. I currently don't have massive suspicions on anyone, so this is really just to get the ball rolling and hopefully spur more conversation.- 406 replies

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
Bort replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
So, rereading the game from the start, and something about cycle one struck me. According to Wonko, it's bad luck in the KKC world to insult tinkers. My joke vote on Elandera was for insulting tinkers in his/her first post. In the rules, it says: And Elandera died because I woke up five minutes before the end of the cycle, and was too sleepy to think about changing my vote. So, there you go. Don't insult tinkers, or you'll get yours. All the proof we could ever need.- 406 replies

While I wouldn't complain at Sebarial/Sibling 2020, I think Rlain will bond with the Sibling, and the Listeners will find a home in Urithiru. -

Then I am honoured to take your vote virginity. I think I should keep my vote where it is, just for this reason My read on Orlok from what he has said so far is 'tentatively trustworthy'. I mean, his posts have come across as pretty villager to me, but it is SE. You should never really trust anyone unless they are verified for you. And now, something for everyone, actually adding to something Orlok already posted - information from secrets I have received via PM (not from Orlok, just to be clear, lol). I wonder if this means that Cthaeth can produce the Rhinna flowers. If so, could I order one please? And the Encanis' 'limited but powerful attack,' I hope this means their unstoppable kill can only be used once, or under specific conditions. Edit: Oh! @I think I am here. - Sorry, missed your post when I first read the thread. That was a poke vote yesterday, to encourage you to play, since you've not posted yet. I'm glad to see it got your attention, even if a day late- 406 replies

Xineohp. There was something a bit off about his posts, like he is barely just trying to scrape by, but without really contributing. I'll have another look tomorrow, and see if it's worth switching my vote to someone else. G'night guys.- 406 replies

I vaguely recall that scene, but here's an interesting thought. When she was young, all of her books came from her parents' library. What were they doing with Way of Kings if it was so heretical?

Not bad for a poke vote. Day one and already an eliminator dead So, did anyone else get an anonymous message last night, asking for secrets? Also, I noticed Wonko's Walin's vote seems to have been cancelled. @Drake Marshall - Can you vote for yourself, or does it not count? Edit 2: Itiah II. Just because he hasn't been in to vote yet. @I think I am here.- 406 replies

But it is up to the GM, therefore you shouldn't assume. I would say just remember to retract your vote when you place a new one- 406 replies

This is why I ended up using CadCom too. Also, in the rules it says green to retract and red to place a vote. Nowhere does it say which vote will be counted if you don't retract.- 406 replies

Straw, you cannot be this careless when running a game. That one screw up changed the entire game, judging from what has been said in the thread. That vote should have been enough to all but identify the final Orator, something it looks like multiple Houses were working on, and yet your mistake shifted everyone into thinking they were wrong, that the Orator must be elsewhere, giving the Orator, who can already manipulate the votes in their favour, an advantage. Who is your backup GM? If you don't have one, why not? They would have been able to help avoid errors like this. I'm sorry if I come across as being a bit of a Dungspren, and I know you put a lot of work into running one of these things, but you do need to be careful about stuff like this.

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon

It's day one. Of course I'm trying to skate by with a joke vote. As for why I'm not contributing much, I refer you back to my previous comment, it's day one. Also, having never read Kingkiller Chronicles, I'm a bit wary of having someone jump on me for not knowing something, like where blue fire comes from However, I'm not too pleased that my poke vote is being used to start a lynch, so... Wonko. Elandera. Because apparently insulting tinkers isn't good for our health, and I have no desire for Ruin to come down on us either.- 406 replies

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
Bort replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I've never read Kingkiller Chronicles, so I have no idea about any of your references And yeah, it mentions blue fire in the verse, but it doesn't tell you what it is from. Hence the assumption it was because of the fae.- 406 replies

I'll second the Empire trilogy by Feist and Wurts. But on top of that, I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Trudi Canavan. She is a fantasy author who has a number of trilogies under her belt. These include the Black Magician trilogy, the Traitor Spy trilogy (continues the storyline from Black Magician), and the Age of the Five trilogy (different world entirely). All have female protagonists, although the Traitor Spy series also has a male lead to go alongside the female.

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
Bort replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Blue fire was pretty. At least, it was until it caught up with you. Then it hurt. Master Ash spoke from experience, an experience he didn't want to repeat, which is why he retreated slightly from the burning tents and found himself a place further down the bucket line. It didn't take long before the fires went out, but by then there were already rumours flying round. Blue fire meant fae, didn't it?- 406 replies

I'm happy continuing as Asu Wish, but if anyone else needs a good name, how about... Inigo Montana, expert swordsman, and high quality cocaine dealer. Or... Tony Montoya, high quality cocaine dealer and expert swordsman. Or... Psychotic bunny miracle worker, and trusty canine detective sidekick, Sam & Miracle Max. Or... Miracle Max's ancient pig, Jurassic Pork. (Can you tell I'm bored this morning? lol)

The Bimbler Primary Power Set: Localised Time Manipulation - Slows down time passing for a targeted opponent. Secondary Set: Limited telepathy, the ability to read surface thoughts, but not go deeper. Weakness: Must be talking to someone for powers to work. If unable to speak, then unable to affect them. Evil: I make people late for important events - interviews, weddings, funerals, etc. I once started an undead apocalypse in an alternate reality by preventing people from attending their own funerals.
