Yeah, there's a lot of bots. We try hard to remove them quickly. Definitely report them, as that sends an email to all staff. We have EU staffers so we can get to them.

There is currently no application process. We tend to notice standout members of the community and elevate them because of their actions. There are quite a lot of factors involved. On the forums itself, not very much any more, to be honest. I do check it about daily, especially the 17th Shard discussion board in case there are issues. I am significantly more active in Discord these days and that is a much, much larger timesink for me than the forums proper. It's just faster and easier, really. So much of the time I am on the forums it's because of a report. I would say no. They did do something, though the functions are not relevant anymore. You don't know need to know about them and it is basically irrelevant anyway now.

I don't think we need to bring real world religion into this topic; I don't think that will be helpful. The staff is noticing rising tensions in this thread, so we would like people to cool down a bit and come back later. Everyone should be respectful and courteous to all, as our Code of Conduct says.

This is a thing the site is generating and nothing is compromised. We did change a few settings last night, though I didn't quite expect it to appear to everyone like this. It is currently improperly set up, as we would need to provide a predetermined list of questions that you could select from the drop-down menu. Since we didn't, they are just... blank. Yay. My apologies for the confusion. I've disabled the security questions for now. I do recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication, though! That is ultimately much more secure than security questions, and I highly recommend it.

1. Hmmmm... I don't know. It still seems weird to just exist forever, you know? I've read/watched too many speculative fiction stories where immortality is just a bad idea. Why do people want to exist forever? 2. I'll PM you! McCoy is a fascinating character. I found he had some reasonable points in Peace Talks. I loved their conflict in that book. It was painful to read and I loved it. I am glad I am neither in the Dresden fandom nor moderating stuff like that. I imagine people have a lot of opinions there. I tend to turn off my analytical brain with Dresden and just enjoy the story.

It's kind of hard to say until you read Starsight. You definitely want to finish Starsight first. My recommendation is pretty simple, and it depends on how people feel about Starsight. I'll spoiler this for Starsight, so I say wait until you're done with that and then click this: I do kind of think the worst reading order is to do publication order, because I think you should read all the novellas in a group. But it is what it is.
