  6. I would like you to explain to me why you are not a nerd. Because frankly, the evidence is not in your favor. I think your definition of nerd might be askew, and so you think you aren't one.

  8. Hello Everyone, Prom was last night and it was a blast. The music was meh, and we(my gf and I) didn't get to dance to our song, but the food was good and the company even better. I pulled off a perfect moonwalk and nobody saw it. It was super hot and humid, but started raining when we left and gf used my tux jacket as an umbrella and it was very cute. She also arranged a bouquet and boutenierre as well and did such an amazing job. That's all for now, but I think I'll have another one soon, with some neat news.

  11. Yes, yes yes I know! another SU! BUT! I'm being a child at 11:00 my time Chillin' on my bed at the rental house in my pajamas and watching Soul Surfer. Snuggled in my blanket. Does it get more iconic than that? The answer is yes. It does when Veil is here. But she's not, so I'm being iconic all by myself. ~ Stick

  15. Alright, two things: 1) Ticket to ride is a great game. Long, but really fun 2) the movie Escape from Germany is a wonderful movie. Everyone should watch it. And if you do, Elder McOmber is my uncle 3-4 times removed (he's the one with the camera). It's a great story, watch all of it including the credits, they have cool facts in them

  16. Tomorrow is last day of teaching for me. I know all of the feelings are gonna hit after I’m done, but I feel an inkling of them now. Hence this mini rant. Y'all, you don’t know how much potential joy and potential grief you provide your teachers. Same goes for your classmates too. And yes, I know that teachers provide potential grief and joy for students too. Both sides affect one another significantly. My joy skyrockets when I see my students working and actually contributing to what we do in class, regardless of whether or not their answers are correct. When I see my students simply trying i get the dopamine. If your teachers are good teachers, and anything like the ones I’ve worked with/tried to be, they love to see you succeed, and want you to graduate. The sheer amount of behind the scenes stuff that they do to get students to graduate is insane. I know school is rough, I’ve been on both sides of the story and the roughness is constant. Both sides are just trying to make it to the finish line. So if you got a teacher who has helped you at all or done something small that makes things a little bit easier, even if it is just as simple as responding to emails quickly or giving back a graded assignment the next day, tell them thanks for me. 18. Brad Wilcox is in our area for the next couple of days, here's some of his awesome thoughts: +They know your rules, now it's time that they know your reasons. +Without Jesus our mistakes only condemn us. With Jesus, our mistakes can educate us. +When you don't do something well, you're not very motivated to do it. +It's not just a covenant, it's a covenant relationship. +They have a right to their opinion, but it doesn't make their opinion right.

  22. Film idea: set in the same world as inception, but it's a person that uses inception to go into artists' (such as writers) minds in order to steal their ideas or smth like that. also another idea with this world, I wonder how it would work if someone tried to do inception on themselves because they have secrets they have hidden cuz of trauma or something (think shallan) and use that to recover the information from their subconscious.

  28. Is anyone else's goal as a writer to have an adaptation with a trailer that has the song "Under Pressure" as the music in it? Just me? ok. Also, I watched Across the Spiderverse. 10/10. I'd be lying if I said I didn't love this movie. This was the absolute perfect time for me to watch it. I looooooove it. It's probably the best multiverse film I've seen (before you say it, I know that everything everywhere all at once is good, I just haven't seen it yet). Though, it doesn't top the first Spiderman movie released this century. Toby Maguire and Willem Defoe captured my heart in Spiderman (2002). Across the Spiderverse gets to claim the number 2 spot resoundly.

  32. Y'all want to know what was sooo much fun today. Walking to eighth period only to hear tornado sirens... And then being stuck in a locker room with boys who were dead set on being as chaotic as possible... for an hour. Though I was given much more information than I normally would have because eighth period is my show choir period. And as is quickly discovered, show choir children are insane. So many people were keeping very close track of the storm and tornados. One dude was even sad because when they let us go only to immediately tell us to go back he almost got outside and was close to seeing the tornados. He looked like he was near tears. I don't think he actually was but it looked that way. Yup. Lovely fun. Tornados and big windy storms are the worst part of being a Nebraskan.

  34. BEGIN LOG If love is so fragile, then why continue to repair it after it cracks? Once it has filled its surface with this many cracks, wouldn’t it be easier to leave it be and let it decay and shatter and fall apart over time? Yes. It would be easier. But that doesn’t mean it’s the correct thing to do. Love is so fragile because it needs to be constantly repaired. It is an essential part of love, that need for constant repair, for maintenance, for reassurance of devotion. Some may wonder why to keep that lamp on, to keep its ornate ceramic looking beautiful, despite the cracks. “Look at your lamp,” They say, “It is cracked and flawed. Shouldn’t you discard it and put a new flawless copy in its place?” And I say to them, “You know nothing of this. This lamp has seen much. Endured much. It’s stories are nestled in the cracks spreading across its ceramic. It’s journey is weaved into the stone it is made of as if a testament of all it has seen and heard. Is this not a sign of flawless and perfect existence? Perfection in imperfection?” This lamp, this love.. It will dim. It will brighten. Sometimes the power will blink out, leaving us in the dark. But the lights will come back on. And we will fight to love. We will choose to love, and to live, and we will nurture the cracks. Let them settle. And when someone asks about them, we will tell that story. I will engrave bluebirds into our lamp. I will stamp ravens to the surface, let crows flutter onto the stone. I will put roses, and chrysanthemums, and moonflowers and sunflowers, and I will sprinkle it in color so that when it is finished, it will be colorful in ways you only could have dreamed of. I have made mistakes. I have cracked our lamp. I will mend the crack. I will transform it into something beautiful. I will build on it, and build into a future with you. This is my vow to you.
