She's been locked in an aluminum box

For almost as long as she can remember.

How much history did you know when you were four-six?

My mother was a history teacher, my grandparents are Holocaust Survivors, and I’m hyperlexic... so a lot.

Rylia seemed to know basic lore, as she knew about Kandra and the Survivor.

Basic lore is like bedtime stories. Though technically she wouldn't've known Kelsier as the Survivor except because of (who's the kandra again? M-something...)

She knew about the Survivor though. And bedtime stories is probably enough background for her to follow Secret History. Besides, she has plenty of people she can ask about it.

Ok.

Then again, it doesn't matter much anyway - there's no way anyone's getting her to let go of that book until she's finished it at least once, probably twice.

Well, I read the Hobbit (and understood it fairly well) when I was 6, so...

Lilliana is not going to be happy about that.

Books are how I stay sane. And so, they are also how she stays sane.

The worst punishment is, in my opinion, being unable to read for more than 12 hours.

Don't worry, she'll be tapping steel.

Does Lilliana not have any other books?

Foullet shrugged. “Both are sweet, but with a sour tang. The pie is sweeter, the sherbet is tangier. They work together well. There will be fresh fruit on the side, and whipcream topping.”

"Whatever you say."

Rylia hugs it to her chest and shows no sign of relinquishing it anytime soon. Her smile is wider than her face.

"The book has multiple mini books in it." She said.

She starts bouncing on her toes and somehow her impossibly big smile gets bigger.

I stand up and start to pace around. Man, the last two days had been boring, despite literally being on a different planet He struggled to keep either of Liliana's books for himself for a couple hours before Liliana herself took them back. I mean, the house was cool, but after two days of wandering around inside it had lost a little of it's novelty.

Arbitrarily, I decide to go downstairs.

Rylia literally just showed up ten minutes ago. The two day time skip was due to Kelsier, Adrienne, and Rylia being two days ahead of people in the house.

Kelsier waved happily. “Great. Just Hoblim left then. You have your things?”

Rylia just barely got there.

Although the part with Lilliana taking the books is probably accurate.

(More than probably)

Oops. It's fixed now, sorry.

Gak! When did he show up? Was he supposed to pack and somehow missed?! "Uh... berightbacksorry!" I spin around and dash back to my room, grabbing the suitcase that had been lying forlorn the the back corner of my room, and began shoving clothes in. Once they had been throughout stuffed in, I look around and... realize that's all I own at the moment. Some clothes. I sigh, put some shoes on, and walk back downstairs with my suitcase in hand. "Sorry, I needed to get one or two more things."

Kelsier smiled. “No rush. We’re still waiting on Hoblim.”

Hoblim got out of his room with his bag on one shoulder, pushing a book in while coming to the group at the entry hall. "Sorry, I was learning Shnaim Mikra- oh, never mind. I tend to forget that you aren't Jews." He shook his head. Then he noticed Kelsier. "Oh, you're back. And... We're moving? Why?"

Sorry for the late reply. I usually don't have much time in the IDF, plus that I start being a little nervous about how many massages I'll have to read each time.

“Because you’ve been attacked twice in this city,” Kelsier said bluntly. “I’m bringing you somewhere where I can be assured of your safety.” He paused, then added. “Which Targum?”

Hoblim paused. "Seriously? A gentile, asking me what I learn? That's... Kind of weird. Anyway, I learn Rashi."

“Is genuine curiosity and respect for other cultures and faiths so foreign on Earth?” Kelsier asked dryly, raising a brow.
