Rylia thinks for a moment, then narrows her eyes and smiles slightly. "Now that's just sneaky."

Right after she speaks she Pulls on the coin pouch, anchoring herself by pulling on a thick blue line behind her, and Pushes on one of Kelsier's vials to try to divide his focus.

”Think you’re ready to travel across the city now?” His smile faded and his face grew more stern. “You’ll be following me, so remember: I’m more powerful than you are and I have centuries of practice. I can push on metals you won’t be able to. So don’t just follow; make certain of your anchors before moving. Got it?”

Kelsier shook his head. “Bad idea. You’re just learning allomancy. Adding Feruchemy to that isn’t a great idea until you’re more comfortable with your abilities. Being able to move faster isn’t going to help you find anchors, but it will give me less time to react if you misjudge your pushes and pulls.”

"What if I stored speed? I'm used to feruchemy, it won't hurt my ability to find anchors, and it'll give you more time to react. Only drawback is that we'd go slower."

“And you, less. All objects fall at the same rate. You’d be reacting slowly, but you’d be falling just as quickly.

“Focus on your Allomancy for now. Let yourself get used to how steel and iron work. We’ll work on adding Feruchemy once you’re comfortable in the air.

”For now, if you really want to add another metal, use allomantic pewter. Assuming you have it, obviously. Pewter enhances dexterity and reflexes, which will help you get across town.”

Rylia follows as best she can, trying to use anchors that are already there if she can. Many times she pushes too hard or too soft, but she's noticeably getting better at it. As she gets better and gains more confidence she increases her speed, making sure to not go too fast.

He launched himself over a canal, heading toward the safe house. They were close now, only a few blocks away.

Rylia's jumps weren't aligned right with the canal. She was currently headed for a landing right in the middle of it, so she dropped a coin in and pushed on it.

It didn't react like she was used to.

She fell in the canal, the coin having slid through the water unexpectedly.
