But no messing with medallion tech until we know more about it. Also, if you start causing trouble like that Kelsier will kill you. Very literally.

There aren't even any F-nicrosils mentioned in that book. Of course there's no indication of transfer. 2. Aww, sad. Why? She's putting it back... Honestly tho, why's it bad that she wants to collect more powers without more spikes? She's already controllable by a duralumined Soother(and therefore easily controllable by Kelsier and controllable\influenceable on a whim by Sazed), so... Edited May 3, 2021 by Tani

But I think he DID consider the possibility. And he invented the medallions, so that loophole doesn’t work. Note that it did not appear to work with the BoM which granted the ability to use Nicrosil.

Quote I'm going to assume Hoblim already started training under Trésor using copper.

Also, everyone was kind of in a really intense situation at that point and Wax and Marasi agreed that they didn't want the responsibility of the BoM, so why would they want something similar?

Brandon was Kelsier first. Fine, Rylia won't do it, I'll pretend like she wouldn't know that's an option, but it IS an option.

Whatever you are tapping returns to the medallion automatically. We’ve seen this. There is no indication that you can move the Nicrosil store to another metalmind. Which you would have to ingest to compound anyway. THAT is what I am objecting to. The Nicrosil store can’t be moved to another Nicrosil mind unless you can find proof that it can be. Everything we’ve seen (which isn’t much, admittedly) indicates that the Nicrosil Investiture is somehow tied to the metalmind. Until you find me that proof that you can move that store, Kelsier created the medallions in such a way that you can’t.

You don't know when she swallowed it, and you can store things in metals inside you. (LordRuler did it, so did Hundredlives, and Sazed tapped from inside him.) [4] See 2. [5] See 1. Nicrosil is not a normal store; it acts like Copper. So it SHOULD permanently transfer to the person tapping. The fact that it doesn’t is because something else - we don’t know what - is going on. Since the store doesn’t permanently transfer to the tapper, it seems very unlikely that it could go to another metalmind entirely. The entire way the Nicrosil part of the medallion works is strange. Kelsier has been with Rylia every step of the way. She had no opportunity to get more metals. Miles had metal under his skin that he could tap. Burning metals not in the stomach takes practice and knowing it’s possible - which almost no one knows. Seeing as Kelsier somehow managed to make the medallions not permanently grant new abilities to people - which they SHOULD do, but don’t -, I’m going with ‘what you’re trying to do won’t work because he clearly took steps to prevent it based on how the medallions work.’ You do get that Nicrosil acts like copper, right? You store Investiture and you no longer have that ability until you tap the medallion. Just like you lose a memory you store until you tap it again.

Goob he/him Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Woah. I start to fill iron and the sensation gives me vertigo for a moment before settling into a general feeling of uneasiness, which subsides after a couple of minutes. The feeling of weightlessness was actually quite enjoyable once you got used to it- like jumping on a trampoline or using a swing. After a couple more minutes, however, the novelty begins to wear off and my mind begins to wander to other topics. "Hey, uh, Kelsier, is there anything else I need to learn with brass other than... uh... excuse me, hand-to-hand combat?" I probably shouldn't of brought that up. I am not a athletic person and I internally shudder at the memory of a Taekwondo class my mother signed me up for a couple years ago.

Then again, he thought, it's an exercise in storing sensory memory. I guess factual memory will come later. He started storing carefully, noting what he wanted to store. There's no use, he knew, in trying to avoid storing what you didn't want; it only brought it to the forefront of his mind and interfered with storing what he wanted. He tried also not to store his thoughts - mainly by storing his immediate memories. It wasn't very easy, but he managed.

After all of the insanity that has been the past few days, I don't think I should be able to be this surprised anymore. I died! Quivil Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Rylia sits down, stores weight in the medallion, starts compounding steel to extreme levels, and opens Arcanum Unbounded. Everyone around her slows down as she reads. She gets confused almost as soon as she starts reading, stops tapping speed, and asks Lilliana about it. She's a few pages in. Quote I don't actually have a copy of Arcanum Unbounded with me (and don't own one, my sister does tho) so I'm not gonna write out the questions or use page numbers.

Quote I think ES was the first story. Roues maneuvered the ship easily through the canals, the allomantic motor giving them the necessary thrust. It wasn’t long before they reached the shimmering waters of the sea. Roues carefully raised their speed, sending the ship speeding across the bay.
