"I do hope I'm not-"

Riva paused in the doorway, arms outstretched in a dramatic fashion. "Late," she finished flatly, noticing the groom's absence. "Where's Caden?"

Caden stalked the halls of the castle, relying on his reputation to keep others from bothering him while he was lost in thought. He knew he should be getting sleep, but even under normal circumstances it was elusive, forget just hours before he was being married to that witch. He just needed some time to think it over, since it was all happening so fast. He liked the steady beat of his feet on the floor, one step after another, it calmed his mind even in the worst of times.

I don't mind. I guess you already decided, then. :)

Actually... I think we just shouldn't.

Riva paused in the doorway, arms outstretched in a dramatic fashion. "Late," she finished flatly, noticing the groom's absence. "Where's Caden?"

Caden rushed from the training ground, the sudden memory taking him out of his thoughtless wandering. He didn't bother changing out of his current uniform, barely even trying to dust off some of the dirt that had gathered on his trousers. As he approached the room that the king has designated, he took a brief moment to gather himself, taking slow and deliberate breaths, before opening the door, his two guards at his side as they always were.

Riva scoffed at the outfit. She'd expected that he wouldn't be near as dressed up as she was, but this was an insult. She glared at him, her radioactive blue eyes - unshadowed by her usual mask - so piercing they could have stabbed through his armor.

Caden tried his best to not meet the Raveness's eyes, but she was quite good at making him uncomfortable despite his best efforts. He cleared his throat, marching towards the Raveness and the altar. He forced himself to take deep breaths, as he felt a pressure building in his chest with every step he took that he couldn't explain. Something about this felt terribly wrong to Caden, but he shoved away those feelings at the thought of being in the king's presence, doing his will. When Caden arrived at the altar, he stood as far away from the Raveness that he could get away with while still being at the altar.

Caden, still not meeting the Raveness's eyes, grumbled under his breath. "For once, I agree with you." He shuddered slightly, not liking how saying that out loud felt.

Brother Tomad sighed.

"Very well, if you want this done quickly, we'll get it over with."

"When the Creator sent human souls to this universe Droit found them divided, male and female, two sides of the same whole. We gather here today to join togather in one man and woman, to compliment and complete one another. With the comision and permission of the Patriarch and as the acting-Bishop of Medahar I bind you together for time and all eternity. One Mind, One Heart, One Soul."

They are one already Brother Tomad thought, how unfortunate that it drives them apart, hating what is so similar about the other.

There was an awkward pause. "... Is that it?" Riva asked, honestly shocked. "May I go home now?"

"I- yes."

If you understood what just happened you wouldn't say that.

Caden tried his best to ignore the Raveness, feeling his hands clenching into fists when he heard her voice. He knew he shouldn't provoke her, and he did his absolute best to avoid doing just that. He bowed towards the king, "is that all, my lord?"
