Oooh, sharp objects, head down. Someone's trying to avoid me. Let's dance, shall we, General? Riva smirked, determined to get under the man's skin. Usually, she would try to disturb a person, but Caden was a man about as surrounded by death as she was. So instead, Riva decided to get uncomfortably close. "So, Caden, dearest, what shall we do today now that we've been bound in holy matrimony?" She took another bit of cake, sliding her teeth against the fork's prongs to make a harsh sound.

Caden cleared his throat, "I don't know. I wasn't," Caden lifted a hand to adjust his collar as he cleared his throat once more, trying to hide how annoyed he was. "I wasn't expecting to get married at this moment." He glowered as he regarded the food before him, not finding it as appetizing as it had been when he thought it would keep the Raveness away.

"Oh? Well, you should have. I was there when the king told the both of us when this would happen and I remembered. I suppose you just don't have the best memory, but that's alright. Now you have someone to remind you, don't you, Caden?" She put her chin on her palm, smiling "lovingly" at Caden. It was an unnerving expression, one that could chill you to the bone. "But maybe we should have expected it far sooner than today. We're just made for each other, aren't we?" She scooted closer. "Two lonely, blood-stained souls."

"We're nothing alike," Caden opened his mouth to speak the differences, but he closed it as he actually considered it. "I have my armies, tens of thousands of soldiers strong to command!" His chest rose, filling with confidence. "They are the greatest army that this land has ever seen!"

Caden opened his mouth offer a quick retort, but it hung open as he tried to think quickly of a response. He cleared his throat once again, "I have stained countless fields red with blood, and black with ash! None dare challenge the king, lest they bring down the wrath of my armies upon them! I crush anyone who stands against my king, woman."

Even if that includes you. Caden dared not to finish that thought out loud, but he feared that he couldn't hide it from his expression.

Me over here about to do somethin’

It took Denton three hours to polish every bottle in the wine cellar. He still wasn’t sure why he had to do this every single night, but he did it nonetheless. It was therapeutic. It let him think, let him plan, and let him sneak a few drinks under the nose of the mistress.

This night, however, he felt uneasy. Like he wasn’t the only one there.

He went to remove the final bottle, just as he did every night. The glass of the bottle had a blue tint, turning the liquid inside a lovely azure—almost as lovely as Savi’s eyes, but not quite. He still hadn’t tasted this one. He slid it from its place on the shelf and began to polish it gently.

Just one sip couldn’t hurt, Denton thought. He glanced towards the stairwell, and figuring he was alone still, moved his thumb to remove the cork.

And then he saw the bunny.

Denton never thought he’d get drunk with a rabbit. He supposed there was a first time for everything.

"Hello, Arabella."

Ara bounced up and down on her toes. "Hiiiii!!! Are you the princess? Do you know how to read? Can you fold paper birds? Do you know another language? What's the king like? Are you gonna marry him?"

"Ah..." Alienor froze for a moment. She had never been the greatest with kids. "I... yes, I am the princess. I can read, I speak Joliean, I am going to marry the king... but I cannot fold paper birds and I don't know that I can tell you what the king's like." Had that been everything?

"Oh, really?" Alienor opened the chest at the foot of her bed and perused its contents, looking for paper.
