As an actor, he’s great, but he really only plays that one dorky role in every movie and it’s starting to wear out.

It was a bit distracting to watch him in The Lost City of Z for this exact reason. Great movie, by the way.

Anyone else think that Tom Holland would be a great fit for David from Reckoners?

Honestly, not especially. I’ve always imagine David as a bit buffer, and definitely awkward, just not in the Tom Holland way. More like the opposite. Like he’s so overconfident that the things that he says (like his metaphors) make perfect sense to him while to everyone else it is awkward. If he was going to play anyone, it would probably be Spook, but again, that would be relying on the Tom Holland trope.

Well, after thinking about it, he wouldn’t be bad. I mean, I read only 1st book (starting the second one), but Tom Holland seems quite similar to David.

Also, I never had crush on him, though I must say, that he is quite hot. I just don’t have crushes on random guys, who I’ve never met.

Tom Holland's plenty buff. You'd have to be a pretty crazy 16 year old to beat that. On the awkward thing though, yeah you're right

Ah, I haven’t seen the Spider-Man movies yet. I don’t pay attention to actors :P he’s nice-looking enough, but if I had a crush on him it’d probably just be his character. I’m also not much for celebrity crushes - I tend toward people I personally know.

I don't think he would make a good David for one reason: he looks too young. I don't think he could look hardened and world-weary, like I imagine David.

He’s by far the best spider man we’ve got so far. As an actor, he’s great, but he really only plays that one dorky role in every movie and it’s starting to wear out.

Ok and this is so true too wow just noticed lol. He is totally being cast into that dorky-young-but-smart kid thing. Honestly tho it fits him really well and if it's working for him, and it seems it is, more power to him. I just wonder what his role will be once he actually grows up (or maybe he never will )

And I totally agree, I do think he was the best Spider-man we have had. Might just be me but I think Marvel casts their roles really well

I completely agree. They do a good job of getting actors who fit comfortably in their character.

Honestly this is I think one of the reasons why their movies do so well too! Like they find people who are the character in real life. SO then when they are filming they are like half acting, half being themselves so it feels more natural

Like this wasn't normally something I was paying attention to until I saw bad acting that just really screwed up a movie cuz you couldn't believe in it and I was like WOAH... Marvel does it rly well!

Star Wars Episode II, Attack of the Clones

Ok, really the acting was about as good as it could possibly be, George Lucas just wrote *terrible* dialogue and the actors weren't brave enough to go off script

That's only if Condensation watched it.
