"Well... I'm not super good at the mindscape stuff, but I'll do my best."

"The key is going to be allowing your instinct to guide you. If I had time I would teach you. However, because we don't you will have to trust yourself. When the time comes trust in yourself." I step forward and put a hand on his shoulder. Words so ancient that time no longer remembered them spill from my lips. The air stirs and knowledge passes from my mind to Fadran's. I grimace and after a few moments step back. "This is a temporary solution. The impression of knowledge passed into you. It should stir your instinctual mindscape abilities."

"Geeze!" Fadran's hand leaps to his forehead. "I don't think your extra-godly knowledge was designed to fit into my tiny mortal brain." He blinks rapidly. "Wowza. Is this how gods feel all the time?"

"It depends on the god. Some have limitless knowledge, but remain fools. " There is no mirth in my eyes only concern. "There is a reason why I transferred the impression of wisdom alone. True knowledge is dangerous. If we did not have a bond and I did not know your strength I never would have attempted something like this."

Vale pokes his head back into the tent. "Chrysler says she'll need any soldiers with artistic talent and  some chalk, but she can do it"

"Well... glad you were aware that my pea-sized cranium could handle that sudden influx of information."

"You fear it. Look again and see if I have done as you say. You felt as you thought that you should. However, how substantial is this shadow truly."

Daolan watched intently, trying to learn as much about this as he could.

Herate did the same, although for slightly different reasons.

"Construction," said Psyder.

He teleported directly in front of her. His eyes... they seemed to glow, almost. "Jurisdiction," he whispered "Perception. And..."

He pulled a knife from somewhere, drawing it across his skin. Blood dripped from the would for a moment, then immediately sealed back up. "Augmentation."

Herate stared, open-mouthed, at the blood drips on the floor for a bit. She looked back up at him, having nothing to say.

"And the cost?" Herate's face grew slightly melancholy.

"The price has already been paid," said Psyder, gesturing to the withergeist in her soul.

"Why not, then? It's not like it'll make a difference."

Psyder smiled. Perfect.

"Would you like me to choose your abilities?" he asked.

"Fadran, I apologize." I do an approximation of rubbing my temples "I allowed myself to be consumed by the urgency of the situation at hand. We cannot waste any time. If they try to leave that castle we will need to slow them down. We must see whether there are any soldiers who can help Chrysler."

"You can go on ahead, Nath... I still need to figure out Herate's military hiearchy." He scratched his head. "What the heck is an elantrian cavalry? Can you even write glyphs while riding on horseback?"

I turn and exit the tent. With purpose I stride through the camp and find Major General Kailer. "Newly minted Major General." I give a polite bow. "I need to requisition your most creative soldiers for an important mission."

“Go ahead, I obviously don’t know anything about these. Keep in mind that my goals are different than yours.”

“You may have them. Do you also require a commander?”

"If one can be spared it would be appreciated. We would require these as quickly as they can be mustered."

Why were there so many mountain ranges that they didn’t control? There were basically no places through which they could move their troops. They’d have to take a region if they ever wanted to possibly flank the castle... but that would be costly, and they didn’t have the resources to launch a full-scale invasion on a mountain.

Unless...

Fadran poked his head out the tent flap. “Nath? Chrysler? Kailer? Can you come in here real quick?”

Fadran's voice drifts on the winds and in a single smooth motion I turn. My steps are filled with a spirit of urgency and in moments I am back where I started. "What is it Fadran?" My voice remains calm despite the urgent energy within.
