EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 sadly, no. Had school when our allotted time was.
Lego Mistborn he/him Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 (edited) I will in a few weeks. Edited May 10, 2022 by Ta'veren Kaladin
The Wandering Wizard he/him Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 No but we talk about it in seminary that those that have seen the temple and never gone in can now go in and see what a temple is like.
Morningtide she/her Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 I'd love to see that. It would be cool. I'm in Idaho tho, so there's no way I'm seeing that I did get to go to the Pocatello Temple open house and that was amazing. 1
The Wandering Wizard he/him Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 I can't remember the name of the state but before covid a massive flood happened in a nearby state and lots of members of our church went and so I have a helping hands shirt and I got to shake President Ballards hand it was I believe but I could be wrong. @The Bookwyrm did you go? 1

I've only been in the area for a few years. How long ago was it?
The Wandering Wizard he/him Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 It was in the summer of 2019 or 2018 I can't remember exactly.
The Bookwyrm he/him Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Yeah, I probably missed it. Even if I was living in the area there's a chance that I didn't go.
EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 I think I went, helped cut up some trees. It was in the southeast
The Wandering Wizard he/him Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) All I remember doing was picking up lots of trash. Edit: We listened to Bradley Wilcox's talk "His grace is sufficent." in seminary today and it just gets better and better every time. Edited May 12, 2022 by The Wandering Wizard 1
+Slowswift Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 (edited) That devotional tonight was lovely! Anyone else tune in? Edited May 16, 2022 by Slowswift

Rune he/him Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Just a random question but how many people do you think only really read Sanderson's books because they're a member? And do you think there are more members that are fans than non-members? 2
Mat he/him Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Just now, Rune said: Just a random question but how many people do you think only really read Sanderson's books because they're a member? There are definitely more non-member fans, though there other be a higher percentage of member fans as opposed to a different series. I think there are also for sure people who started the cosmere because they’re a member, but that wasn’t why they finished it 1

And do you think there are more members that are fans than non-members? My brothers and I have been members our whole lives, but when one of my older brothers first picked up The Way of Kings his first Sanderson book, he had no clue that Sanderson was a member. It took him a while to figure out that Sanderson was a member, but I didn’t care about that aspect when reading Sanderson. As one of my favorite characters said: “A good book is always good, no matter how many times you’ve already read it” (Dazai Osamu, Bungou Stray Dogs, 2016), though I’d like to add that it doesn’t matter what the author’s religion is for this.. unless it’s something that is immoral and inhumane, then we gonna have problems. 3
Lego Mistborn he/him Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Honestly, if you read a book just because of something unrelated to the book, I question your wisdom. 3

Mason Wheeler Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Even if you didn't know, it would be pretty obvious by the end of Hero of Ages. No one who's not a member could have written that book.

I love all the themes in his books that align with the church. Major truth bombs. Its great. 2
