Draug sat back, stunned. They had the same restrictions on magic... but they had overcome them. They had freed themselves from the walls that bound them! Could he, maybe, do the same?

"Are you in contact with Jamie, then?" he asked, making a mental note to ask her about the idea later.

"In a roundabout way I guess. When I contacted the other Elantrians, they said they were sending someone to help. Jamie and Cassie were the ones that showed up, so apparently they knew about them."

"Kitchen, Living room, that huge table over there we use for meals. Our individual rooms are upstairs."

"That's Leona. She offered to help make the fire."

She grabbed a lightner and held it up.

"Leona, that's Ashlyn. She knows Rob from school."

“Hi Ashlyn!” Leona said, waving. She grabbed the lighter and gestured towards the back door. “Let’s go start us a fire! Would you like some cake?”

Walking outside, Leona dropped some wood in the fire pit, and decided to start a fire the old fashioned way. She didn’t want ashlyn to think there was anything weird going on.

Rob was in his room when he heard the doorbell ring and snd some people talk to who he assumed was Ashlyn. Exiting his room and gliding down the stairs he waved to her, then moved outside to where Leona was.

“Do you need help with the fire?” He asked.

“Yeah, sure. I think we need kindling first - newspaper, twigs and the like.” She started stacking logs in a cabin formation. “Do we want to use gasoline or firestarter on it?”

Ashlyn returns Rob’s wave then follows him outside, “I feel like a firestarter kit would be better, I don’t know if burning gasoline produces any fumes.”

yeah, sometimes gasoline burning produces bad stuff you don’t wanna breathe. stuff made specifically for firestarting is better

Leona walked back outside with a plastic white container of firestarter, or Girl Scout Water. She doused the wood liberally with the stuff, then grinned as she touched the lighter to the wood. The pile went up in a beautiful blaze of light.

“We’re in business, boys!”

Guys, we are so bad at acting normal.

Also, Evelyn's in the kitchen in all her Elantrian glory, so that's one way to expose Ashlyn to Investiture. Could possibly trigger character development for Evelyn too, if Ashlyn reacts badly. (We didn't even plan it, but it would work so well. Not that we have to or anything.)

Ashlyn's friend is now named Cassy (apparently I'm doing my characters in here like Mac does his in the AV - they're all gonna be named a variant of Cassie). She went home after the store thing. I might also have another character in the works, but if I do introduce them it'll be in a while. At this point if we held up the prom anymore someone's going to murder someone else.

Cassy texted Ashlyn. Hey, wanna hang out tonight?

Shana smiled at the fire. She liked fire. Fire was great. It was hers. She could have called it easily, ripped the wood apart, set it on fire, but not with Ashlyn around.

"Go look for Ben? See if he's alright."

She asked Mahad quietly.

"Do we want to eat outside? Then we could fetch the plates and the groceries."
