Technically, Aylitha is not aligned with the DA this era - she's working with Sudiov and the Stranger. @Rushu42 Aln did have a tracker placed on her at the Scholar's Guild to attract monsters (I just reread that bit).

So to answer people's questions about the shadow beasts: I don't have a specific set of rules for them, more of a loose idea as to their purpose. The shadow creatures are the creations of Aylitha, who lent her power to the forging of the world. Because her essence is tied into the forgery, and the creatures are of her, they can sense when things are causing the forgery to weaken. This can be people experiencing memories of their past life or people engaging the the fracturing parts of the world and thus aggravating the damage. The stronger or more consistent the memories are, the stronger the scent for the creatures to follow. Once they find their targets, they repress the old memories  and wipe the most recent ones that involve their remembrance. Most people can't see them and they rarely do physical damage, though they are capable of it. I wasn't planning on writing every shadow beast post, they're more there as a plot device/antagonist for characters to interact with. If you want your character to be pursued, feel free to write that! They can either be defeated by the beasts or defeat them in turn, though keep in mind the more interference, the more attention your character is likely to get from malevolent forces.

That said, @kenod is the creator of Aylitha, so I defer to them if there's anything they want to change or add.

Lita turned to look at Laurelai, and she could tell that the green of her eyes was a bare ring around her pupils, wide and bright. “Yes,” she murmured. “There is something similar.”

A voice in the grotto, implacable and imminent as entropy. Shadows tightening about her, a hand on her shoulder.

”A god could do it,” Lita whispered, lifting her own hand as she remembered. She remembered. “A god, or something…”

Fingers trembling, reaching up to touch that hand. Impossibly real.

”…something Stranger.”

@Voidus

Zinc, this is so good. That's all.

Did Ene create Aylitha or did Kenod do that?

Most people can't see them

Whistles innocently

Or maybe Cassie/Byron being pseudo-unForged can see them, yeah, that’s it :P

Now if one Eldritch god mod already asked you for a blood sacrifice, and then two more eldritch gods mod ask you for a blood sacrifice, how many people should you sacrifice?
Whisper 18th Shard: *Hand shooting into the air* Everyone!
Eldritch gods Mods: *Approving nods*

Look at them. Their greed is running rampant. First they wanted upvotes to pad their reputation, then they started demanding blood sacrifices what will they want next? Respect??

No, just sleep.

(someone, probably: "they want our SLEEP") :blink:

So I was reading through to try and find the early Alleyverse threads

And there’s a small one about an Alley Turnpike

And nobody made a pun about it being the Turnspike

What is this world coming to

So, would it make sense for them to to leave after having reset Cassie and ignore Null? And would squishing them under your feet have any effect?

As he spat the last word he leaned in until only an inch or two separated him from the shade, eye glowing brighter and brighter, ready to unleash a force that would annihilate it from existence. Ready to Voidmake if that was what was needed, which it very well might be. The forgery had been elaborate and had the power of two gods to maintain it. New arrivals to the Alleyverse posed a minimal enough strain that they could be managed even if thousands more arrived. But this? These were not supposed to be here. Could not be here. For Sudiov with his constant connection to the false world and viewing them from the Spiritual realm they looked like nothing so much as two gaps, spaces where the world should be but was not. But physically?

What fresh nightmare has he released into the city?
@Fatebreaker

Is he talking about Null and Sanax? If yes it's funny cause they just randomly popped here a few days before the Forgery by pure coincidence, which I doubt Sudiov will buy.

No, it sounds good. Actually, if you need/want me to do any rping with her, please ping me, I'd like to get back into stuff here.

Edit: Actually, are there any good places to jump in for rping right now? Not with Aylitha, but with an actual char?

hey guys, how does a guild thread work? is it like a place or is it just people in the guild doing stuff?

Its both. Its generally the place of the guild headquarters, as well as a general thread for people in the guild to do things, as well as occasionally an out of character place to discuss the guild as well.
