Unfortunately, this was a half galaxy, so half a galaxy away happened to be their planet.

They were thrown through space and landed on a planet overtaken by the Ghanderflaffle Empire years ago that had been modified to look exactly like the planet they had been on. However, it was a bit further forward in time, so when X's avatar and Melody landed on the top of a building, the sun had just begun to come up.

This star was a giant disco ball.

So the sunrise was more spectacular than Melody had ever seen. She stared at the sunrise, transfixed.

then it yawned and started to set

Once it had set, the other sun came up. It was a glorious sunrise, and Melody didn't think that the previous sunrise could top it.

This one was, in fact, glorious and beautiful and lasted a long time. Unfortunately, it was also so hot it began to boil them alive.

Luckily, they were both rendered impervious to harm so that they could enjoy this magical moment.

Unfortunately, the magical ability of the moment was to transform them into hedgehogs, permanently.

Very adorable, but they wanted to be humans again. There was an extra comma and bad grammar in the sentence that transformed them into hedgehogs, so it was not actually permanent.
