Jaywalk he/him Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 One of the priests stabbed Truthless's pinata.
Truthless of Shinovar he/him Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 It was quite painful for the piñata, who was actually a sentient awakened object.
Archer he/him Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 The pain was mostly mental. The piñata's Command was to 'explode when hit hard'. It had spent a lot of lonely nights thinking about what constituted a hard enough hit. Is the gentle kiss of the morning breeze strong enough to count? it wondered. No. That is more of a tickle than a hit. Perhaps the touch of these children, when they poke at me with bats. Nah, it decided. Children are too weak to hit me hard. Maybe the forceful strike of a sword? But what if it is accidental? I may explode too soon and ruin everything. Best to wait for a really hard hit. Like that of a meteor or nuclear armament. Then I will know for sure that the blow is meant to trigger me! Despite being made of just cardboard and coloured paper, the piñata stubbornly refused to be damaged by anything less than a cataclysmic explosion. Many had tried to smash it, but none had succeeded. It wasn't very fun at parties. 3
Jaywalk he/him Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 But then, a child pulled out a thermonuke. 1

The storm of withergeists had indeed blocked the light of the sun. "What do we do?" Sophie asked. Not really the withergeists- actual, literal clouds. Aqua inhaled deeply, honing her focus. Simple, she said. We make it rain. With that, she pulled on the clouds... ... and a light rain began to fall.

She was too awed to be disturbed by Astral's wailing cries. "Wow," Sophie said. "That's amazing, Aqua. Kind of reminds me of..." Her face fell. "Trewee."
Jaywalk he/him Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 An infomercial began. Do you ever feel like your children hate you? Like your family’s turning against you? Well, drown your sorrows with our newest product—Artificial Happiness! It’s like artificial flavor, but without the guilt! 1
Zephrun’s Imperium they/he Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 The infomercial reminded TVG of Star. For several reasons. But mostly because her children probably did hate her. Sadly, Star had completely forgotten them. Abandoning them had been so traumatic for her that she'd completely forgotten them, names, faces and all.
Jaywalk he/him Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 She decided to purchase some Artificial Happiness.
Zephrun’s Imperium they/he Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 But Star couldn't be godmodded as she was on a different thread. Meanwhile, Rose knocked on Kell's door. It was time to come home. She was 13 now and her thoughts of Granite coming back with her had been disillusioned. She didn't even know where her older brother was anymore.

Zephrun’s Imperium they/he Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 In the last year, he'd gotten good with his metals. But not good enough it seemed.
Jaywalk he/him Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 He’d boarded himself up in his bedroom.

Truthless of Shinovar he/him Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 The explosion was incredible. The piñata had never felt such a hard hit in all of its life. For a moment, it basked in the raw power, fulfilling half of its command, being hit hard. But, there was still the other half to complete. The piñata sucked in the explosion of the thermonuke, breathed in, then realeased it outwards while also releasing its own energy. Needless to say, candy went everywhere.
The Awakened Salad they/them Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 The candy gained sentience.
Jaywalk he/him Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 As radioactive candy often does. One Tootsie Roll decided to go on an adventure. 2
+Ed Venture Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 So xe began to teleport in the standard Tootsie Roll way, thermonuclear dissolvement and distanced reformation.

But up above, withergeists had taken notice. They began to drift towards Aqua and Sophie with their blank faces and twisted cries. Rain droplets splashed onto Sophie's face and she realized something. She didn't have to be here. She could be ethereal and retreat and pretend this never happened. She didn't have to interact with the thread at all. The thought was appalling. If she did that, she would let Xinoehp die. And... he was the only one who ever really... cared for her. She realized how alone she was. Aqua wasn't all that kind. Astral was practically darkness incarnate. She didn't have... anybody. That was why she wouldn't retreat. Because if she did, then she would be truly and utterly alone. Sophie narrowed her eyes and began to Narrate. The rain intensified, the downpour growing so heavy that it was near-blinding. She put a forcefieled in the shape of an umbrella over herself and Aqua. "It's gonna get heavy real fast so-" The roar of the water started immediately. "Hold on tight, I guess," Sophie said.

Zephrun’s Imperium they/he Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) Rain splattered all over Astral, giving her something to focus on besides the force invading her mind. Within seconds she was completely drenched, her hair and robes becoming matted to the rocky ground. Breathing became hard, as her mouth would fill with rainwater if she opened it and her nose was clogging up with water as well. She felt herself drowning and panicked for a moment before melting into sludge, a state where she didn't have to breathe. Unfortunately, she didn't have the energy to keep it up very long and soon had to switch back. She cried out desperately, reaching out with her mind to Sophie. Soon enough, a thin, transparent blue film sprung up around her; one of her sister's forcefields. She gasped, coughing up some water that had gotten into her lungs.
