She frowned and stepped through.

"Who are you talking to?"

"I'm fairly good, I think."

"I don't know what to call it, but I found it earlier. It's in some kind of alternative dimension."

He’s not a protagonist. If I let him be a protagonist then I’m going to die, and if I have to seize complete control of his body I will. He will never be enough to fight anything more than fodder meant to die by the author.

“All right, then let’s get out of here before Rebus arrives.” He cuts another rift. “After you, I guess.” He frowns. “That’s hurtful, 9/10. And who are you talking to?”.

@Aeoryido you mind if i&9 and Alli appear near ribbon and fog?

Spoiler

"I did specify that you would be disconnected from him. And it sounds like he'd be perfect. Those the Authors don't really care for do tend to make easy targets. Would you perhaps be interested in making a deal?"

Pree did not mention his skepticism towards 9/10mmHB#2's casual disregard for Inkwell. The character clearly had some potential.

Yeah she and Ribbon and Myles are on that cliff still :3

teehee

The air rushing through the rift, mingling with the air burning at the tattered hems of reality, is thick with salt. Inkwell sheathes The Futility of Language and steps through behind her, back to the cliff side. Two new people have arrived since he was gone.  The rift sizzles shut as he raises his hands. “Sorry my alter tried to kill you! I want him dead too! Don’t- shoot?”

Spoiler

Who are you, anyway? I don’t make deals with voices in my head, kindred spirit or not, in case of demons.

Ribbon grabbed Mylo and Fog's hand(s) and teleported to the Sword Dimension not wanting to be involved with whoever or whatever just came out of the portal.

Myles had to admit, he was curious. He stretched out a hand and barely, almost cautiously, stretched out his hand to lay a fingertip atop her wrist. Noticeably, his other hand reached toward his belt, where something was obviously concealed. He froze with his hand hovering near it, eyes wary.

Who are you talking to, 9/10mmHB#2? I want an answer.”

Regulus, by this point starting to lose coherent thoughts to lack of oxygen, followed Arayna's lead out of the smoke. He coughed, trying to dispel the remaining smoke from his lungs. He looked up at his rescuer, eyes wide with shock and gratitude. His eyes widened further as the dragon swept its foreleg forwards in a vicious attempt to kill its target, vision too poor to see that its 'princess' would be caught in the crossfire. Regulus leapt forward, tackling Arayna to the ground just in time to avoid the dragon's wild swing. keeping hold of Arayna, Regulus rolled behind a rather large stalagmite.

"Thanks." He whispered, as the confused dragon in the background looked for its prey. "You saved me. But you should probably run now. I'll handle the dragon." It should be noted that Regulus sounded exactly as unconfident as he felt in regards to his dragon-slaying capabilities. Nonetheless, he reached for his sword, determined to give this woman every chance to escape.

Arayna gasped, and was glad she did, because as Regulus knocked them to the ground, she didn't lose all of the breath in her lungs. Slightly flustered, the young woman glanced back at the dragon before she was able to give the young hero before her a brief smile. "You're welcome." She whispered back, although Arayna couldn't help being overly aware of how dirty her simple dress was, and how tangled her dark brown hair was. The dragon! She thought at herself angerly, Stay focused on not dying.  Handing Regulus back his sword, she raised an eyebrow at his statement. "I'm sure you're a great hero, but I don't mind waiting here to help you, if you need it of course." She said in such a way that it was clear she thought Regulus was a great hero.

“Uh, when I met Fog, 9/10’ started freaking out. He doesn’t seem to trust anyone, he’s very paranoid, and he tried to kill her with the sword. Except the sword doesn’t kill people, I use it to travel. That was before you arrived.”

"Oh no, we're not interested in you, really. We're interested in Inkwell. You see, my acquaintance and I... we are setting up something of a competition. And I think Inkwell makes a promising candidate for that competition. I'd have to talk to my acquaintance, but if he agrees, we could certainly set up a way to separate you from Inkwell, so as to make him easier to manipulate."

Regulus found himself swelling at Arayna's praise. "Your help would be... much appreciated." He said. "This is my um, my first dragon that I've killed-er, fought. So... yeah, thanks." He quickly turned to peer past the stalagmite in order to hide the blush that rose to his cheeks at the awkward way he'd stumbled over words.

The dragon had, owing to a combination of poor eyesight and the overpowering scent of smoke in the room obscuring any whiff of human that its ancient nose could have detected, concluded that its swipe had successfully killed the adventurer, and gone back to sleep.

9/10mmHB#2 considers its own agenda. You would have to provide me a character to inhabit. I can’t exist without one. And preferably one that won’t resist me, or if you can… remove part of it, somehow.
and inkwell, don’t worry about it.
