The rejoiced by throwing a barbecue/party, where they attempted to create products that they believed MacBurger Barn should have carried instead of pineapples.

They were very tasty and the caterpillar grew fat on the blood of cows.

So fat, that the caterpillar died of a heart attack.

Another tear fell, and the dancing flower, the watchers, the caterpillar, and all else was washed away.

And became something new.

In those universities they studied to achieve one goal: the preservation of their reality.

This was the flaw in their philosophy, you see. They saw the present state of their existence as perfect, and would pay any cost to bring about an end to the change that defines everything.

Which was of course, impossible. In order to prevent change, they would have to essentially destroy their planet. Even then, change always found a way.

This annoyed them greatly. This change annoyed them, failing their philosophy, and so they destroyed themselves and the planet.

A small revolutionist organization had escaped on an interstellar ark before their philosophy obsessed brethren destroyed their homeworld.

These small few sought refuge on the nearby planet where Nale the Ninja lived.

Reality was thin here, and they believed it to be a place where the veil between what was and what once was grew thin.

Indeed, if they weren't careful...

Suddenly, a rift in the fabric of the space around the planet appeared, and Butt Venture fell into the new universe.

He disappeared almost immediately, but still. His momentary presence proved that the laws of the cosmos were not concrete. Here, the refugees believed they could find a way to preserve their existence forever.

They set up a colony on the shore of the largest continent and began their scientific expeditions: both into the natural environment of their new world, and into the state of its dimensional reality.
