...Those were my third and fourth puns on this thread, and I hope to have TenSoon.

Dude, I made that same exact joke two posts before you did, at least wait for a new page before copying it.  ;)

Edit: Suddenly I'm forcefully reminded of Hoid's "Novelty speech" at the end of WoK

Its a pun. Not an invention that you can patent. ;)

I was not paying attention. I apologize.

As for the inability of a pun to be patented, OreSeur?

Sorry, bad pun, I'd have my sense of humor flogged for insubordination, but my sense of decorum is taking too long. There's a line.

The Smoker tried to burn a policeman because they're coppers.

I have only been on this thread about a day, and I would say I'm Ferring well!

Steel your heart, I've got some Epic puns. They just haven't been Awakened yet.

My mind is Ladrian with puns.

Storms, I need a break. Most of the puns I can think of are rusting pick-up lines!

I realize that thread exists. However, I take special pride in my puns, and am discouraged when they don't turn out well.

On that note, Sazed would be excellent in any choir because he has Harmony. (Double pun. Find the first one.)

I'm Jasnah feeling it anymore.

I hope you Shallan -derstand if I don't continue.

Does the man actually have a life at that point that he is fire? Or does he realize, "I should have been stick after all!"?

You see the entire joke hinged on the fact that no one would realize that the man kind of dies when he turns into fire.

But he should definitely have been a stick, sticks are good at not being soulcast into fire.

Well he'd still be warm for the rest of his life at least.

That time frame is just much shorter than it normally would be.

But he wouldn't be alive anymore after being soulcast, so he would be cold for the rest of his life then have a warm and volatile corpse. Edited by CognitivePulsePattern

This all depends on whether soulcasting is instantaneous over the entire object or gradual but very fast.

H won't have a "rest of his life" after being cast to fire though. Except that short bit where he's being turned from flesh into fire.

I don't think instantaneous really makes any scientific sense, to be honest. Judging from the air-to-stone moment Adolin saw the matter sometimes does need to move to account for state-changes. Instantaneous kind of defies relativity. The fact that the air can be observed to move into place at all suggests it's just fast.
