TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 And my sister has zero qualms about taking my stuff and then lying to my face about it. Lovely. Gotta love the golden child.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I'm failing at this vacation thing... I keep wanting to log on and check up on everything. 2
ThirdGen Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 And don't get me started with the law and chaos axis, since my visions of these concepts are ver far away from D&D, and I don't see these concepts as a dichotomy. Guys, I found the libertarian!
DreamEternal Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Guys, I found the libertarian! I don't see myself that way 0_o
Edgedancer he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I don't see myself that way 0_o If it makes you feel better, I'm not a fan of the D&D alignments either. 1
Allomancy she/her Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I talk I had with my brother today: "Hey Jared, what do you think your boggart would be? "I'm actually not sure. I don't have a lot of deep intrinsic fears it could take the image of. Maybe something related to taxidermy, or else a deeper and more abstract fear like--" "Downvotes." "What?" "Your boggart would be a downvote." "A downvote." "A giant walking and talking downvote laughing at you." "Dear Almighty. That's horrifying." "See? That would totally be your boggart." I think my boggart would be either:an f on a test (or on a final grade) A giant crab) (Why? Here I've seen documentaries where crabs eat live birds, or dead whales. I have also seen a 13 foot long crab. To me, that proves that there is a crab big enough to eat me. Or one that makes me fall. I hate the feeling of falling. Trust fall? Not for me. No way. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I don't see myself that way 0_o Don't worry. I'm sure T was (mostly) joking. He's been basically cracking every joke that jumps into his brain today. You should see him bouncing giddily around the office. 1

Kobold King he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Looking through the alien races I've developed, I find that I have a strong tendency to create matriarchal species but don't have any patriarchies at all. I'm not sure what this says about me, but I'm pretty sure I need to create at least one insanely misogynistic species just to even things out. Or create a race with three genders and make both males and females equally oppressed by society. 1

After that I'm pretty sure you have a carte blanche for just about everything.

Or create a race with three genders and make both males and females equally oppressed by society. The Trumpians were created many years ago when, furious at having lost the Republican nomination, a presidential candidate vowed to create an entire planet of beings who would gladly vote for him. Using his vast fortune, he paid unscrupulous scientists to create a race of men with terrible hair and faces that resembled Muppets. Oddly enough, female Trumpians are all remarkably attractive, yet bear no ill will against their male counterparts who insist they are hideous. 8
Zathoth Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 You know me and a friend had an idea for a satiric story based on the premise of: "What if the dark side of Tumblr ruled the world?" Spoilers: It wouldnt be pretty. On a completely different topic I just started a story with the first line being: "You would be surprised how easily I could get away with things as a child" and I have no idea where to go from there... Ye Great Old Ones give me inspiration! 1

Or just create a regular patriarchal society? On a related note, in the culture I've developed for my fantasy book members of three species coesist and I need to figure out the dynamics of their interations. I think I've mostly figured out the intelligent birds and their peculiar position in a society ruled by humanoids. Now I only need to think of the relationship between humans and the native species of the planet, when the coming of humanity and said intelligent birds was turned into distant legend or forgotten. DreamEternal Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I have not *Googles* Psychic kid seems a little bit too cliche for what I am usually going for... How about something more mundane, like kleptomania? I bet you could figure out a way to squeeze in the weird stuff as the protagonist gets older. 1
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I have a new Star Wars prequels head canon. To clarify: no force awakens spoilers or discussion included whatsoever. That part about balance stuck out to me the very 1st time I watched the prequels. The Jedi are ruling the galaxy(mostly) and there are 2 siths. Balance really wouldn't favor the Jedi.
Kobold King he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 That part about balance stuck out to me the very 1st time I watched the prequels. The Jedi are ruling the galaxy(mostly) and there are 2 siths. Balance really wouldn't favor the Jedi. The Jedi conceit was that the Dark Side was intrinsically a corruption and imbalance in the Force, and therefore its eradication would restore balance by ensuring the entirety of the Force was dedicated to the Light Side. Clearly not one of these guys had ever seen a yin-yang symbol. 5
Zathoth Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 How about something more mundane, like kleptomania? I bet you could figure out a way to squeeze in the weird stuff as the protagonist gets older. This is more what I am thinking. And not even getting older, but like... the protagonist (Now I am breaking kayfabe), the protagonist does some seemingly innocent prank, it blows up a bit too large and he still gets away with it, possibly someone else gets the blame. If you search Dead Palette Tales on youtube (So should the rest of you) that is the style I have in my head, mundane, with just a slight touch of the weird.
The Sovereign Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Twi, I got to Lunker earlier today (I'm already in the middle of 2009...). And I have a new favorite. I think in general the Cooper box sculptor comics are my favorites. 5
