You could say that the troll level is OVER NINE THOUSSSAAAAAND tonight.

The "like" system with no downvotes is, in my opinion, not a useful methodology for a reputation system, and I'd rather just remove the system entirely.

Additionally, though it is possible for us to move to a "Like" system, that removes anonymity, which I think is also important.

Yeah, Im on another forum that uses this board that has that...

The way the rep system worked though was to show appreciation, ... I dont know why I care so much...

On one hand the up vote system can easily become "I can just upvote this so I dont need to write anything" which is counter productive to a forum, on the other hand it can be "I have nothing to add, but I like what you said, have an upvote", or "Follow up+upvote"

Can anyone remind me where I was going with that? This is why I should plan stuff...

Mission accomplished. I will frame this picture and show it to my grandchildren some day. B)

On a more serious note, isn't limiting the quota for upvotes like this going to create a massive, uncrossable divide between the current top reputation Sharders and everyone else?

*whispers* I think that's where the resetting rep idea comes in.

Congratulations. :D

There was always a quota. We've just moved it back, and not as far as you may think.

Yeah but I think the only people who ever hit that were people in the RPs and occasionally the bad day/random stuff threads.

Hmm... didn't work...

What didn't? Upvoting? You are probably at the quota.

Yeah... I was thinking about this not too long ago. How much freedom does the site have to go bespoke with the code? Is it possible to do something that isn't directly supported by Invision?

I can. It is typically difficult to do anything of reasonable complexity. I don't want to break core functionality. In addition, all custom things make site upgrades even harder as it requires testing to make sure neither the custom stuff nor the upgrade were broken in the process.

Layout things are just templating and such, and are far easier to do. Coding changes requires not only a deep understanding of PHP (which I don't have especially deep knowledge on), and also a deep knowledge of IPBs... Everything. I'm sure there's logic to what they do coding wise, but let me tell you... It is really difficult to make sense of it all.

Basically it is a ton of time (which I don't have) and work for something that will almost assuredly break upon upgrades and isn't future proof. So... Not a thing I like doing.

But can we do such a thing? Yes, it is legal to do so. Is it practical? Not so much.

I wouldn't mind a repitition reset. I wouldn't mind a repitition reset. I wouldn't mind a repitition reset. I wouldn't mind...

Reputation. I meant reputation. Not repitition. Not repitition. Not repitition. Not...

Thanks for the info. I really don't know enough about IPB to attempt to give any more suggestions, so I'll leave it there.

Reducing the upvote quota also means that Honor Spren is in grave danger of getting hit to death by the quota

So gotta write a Gothic piece of writing.

Wrote some and this is the plot so far, but I don't know what to do next. Suggestions?

Guy goes into Church. His grandfather lives in Church. Village around Church is devoid of life. What next?

I haven't upvoted today, but I tried upvoting just barely, and it said I hit quota

Ha! The upvotes are back! Time to catch up on all these fantabulous posts...

Wait, what's this?

"You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day"?

Rust and Ruin. How many pages did this monster thread gained while I was offline? And why in Braize do people love upvotes so much?

Honestly, I don't care. If the quota got lowered and upvotes reset, Kobold and Twi would reclaim their positions in at least 20 minutes.

That's setting, not plot.

What does guy want? What's stopping him from getting it?

This is precisely what worries me most.  I think Admin need to give her a set of custom 17th Shardplate Quota Armor.
