I thought she would be trapped within the pages, doomed forever to relive that one book again and again...never the prequels, certainly not the sequel... just Shadows of Self again and again for an arbitrarily large and indeterminate amount of time...there...in the Twilight Zone... do-do-do-do-do-do-do-..... 1

But I have a general policy of trying to read a book before I buy it. I don't know why, but it certainly does help me keep my library trimmed to quality titles.Anyway, my library will probably get more copies, so it'll be a couple weeks. Then when I get it, I'll probably finish it in a couple hours (I read pretty fast) and then spend my spare time over the next few days combing through it for foreshadowing, Cosmeric bits, and so on.

Current plan: 1) Finish rough draft. 2) Read Shadows of Self. Re-read it, noting down updates to canon. (There should be some primo stuff in here, mechanics-wise.) 3) Print draft, mark the crap out of it with highlighters and notes. 4) Use NaNoWriMo to do the re-write. 5) December is Beta Reader month! 6) January happens; read Bands of Mourning. Re-read to note down new canon updates. 7) Do the final rewrite of Swift as Steel and put it up on teh internets by February. From there, the thing to figure out is exactly how I'm going to put it up. Length-wise, even once I've done the trimming, it's still liable to be novel-length. Because I'm insane and I don't do things by halves, apparently. So, what do I do? Do I post it up in entirety on someplace like AO3 and put a link up on the Shard on the Fanfic forum? Or do I use the thread to post it up chapter by chapter? Or is there some third option that I haven't figured out yet? 1

I think the basic idea was that the pancakes want to eat you, but we havent made the pancakes yet so for them to want to eat you they must first travel backwards in time, but they want to eat you, right now, in the future. Time travel... I think I thought something along the lines of something bad happens, so you die, and what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger, so through death you live again. I shouldnt talk when I am in this mood...
