Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) Applied for a job in Nashville, TN today. Anyone have another state I should check out? One that isn't Washington, Oregon, or Idaho. I wouldn't object to a sharder moving to Nashville. Edited October 9, 2015 by Mashadar Mistborn
Kobold King he/him Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 -whispers- come to texas we have better high school football Listen to the strange dragon-drawing one, Twi. Texas is a magical land that is in no way brimming with too many fire ants, scorpions, and adverse surges of scorching weather to be termed properly habitable. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Applied for a job in Nashville, TN today. Anyone have another state I should check out? One that isn't Washington, Oregon, or Idaho. Naturally, I am still nominating both Kansas and Missouri. Sure, our legislatures are completely nuts, but whose state isn't these days? (Also, KC is really more suburb than anything anymore. There are huge swaths of the metro area that don't identify themselves as actually being part of Kansas City even though they sorta are. Just sayin'.)
Guest Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Applied for a job in Nashville, TN today. Anyone have another state I should check out? One that isn't Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.Virginia is cool. The Northern part at least. Also, my library did get a bunch more copies of Shadows of Self! So I picked it up today, and immediately had to go play mini-golf. No matter. I read it when I got home. It was incredible! But you knew that already. Now time for the rereading...
The Honor Spren she/her Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Applied for a job in Nashville, TN today. Anyone have another state I should check out? TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I wouldn't object to a sharder moving to Nashville. It seems like an awesome place to live, what with all the history. And I'm a huge fan of places with history—the most interesting places in Tucson to me are the Hotel Congress (because of John Dillinger) and the San Xavier del Bac mission. The rest of it….eh. Listen to the strange dragon-drawing one, Twi. Texas is a magical land that is in no way brimming with too many fire ants, scorpions, and adverse surges of scorching weather to be termed properly habitable. Eh, I've lived in the Fire Swamp Arizona for three years now, so I think I could handle Texas. Just sayin'.) The governing bodies of Arctic and Antarctic research outposts are perfectly sane! They pass legislation focused on survival and study, not on what they think will get them reelected, and…. …and they chose to live where walking outside with no coat can literally kill you. Never mind. Virginia is cool. The Northern part at least. I'll have to look again. Haven't checked Virginia in a while. Brevard County FL has a great public library system. But you've already applied for jobs in Florida, haven't you? I applied to one in Sarasota. Didn't see anything in Brevard.
Mistrunner Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 ohh hoco games are the best! And of course band nerds are the best I mean hello we're band nerds Just wanted to agree to this statement
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 An interesting tidbit for Oregoners... Lightwards has been added to the innumerable characters that the wonderful app "Akinator" knows of. The app is well worth the 99 cents, if you don't already have it. I'm off to add some more esoteric WHiO personalities. Hopefully, you'll all be able to experience the joy of having your characters appear in a form that is (excuse the alliteration) not this forum. image.png And thus the Akinator was defeated by someone thinking about Nighthound, I do not blame him. Anyway, doesn't it have a free version on the regular internet? 1

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I was saying that Colorado had history. I applied in Brighton. I tried to apply for an archivist position in Denver, but this "entry level" job required a year of experience.
Kaymyth she/her Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Strawberry daiquiris at work - Yay! Daiquiris are nonalcoholic - Okay, it's work, so I really have no business boo'ing this. So I'll just grumble about how the rum is always gone. 3
Zathoth Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Isn't the rum always gone because you drink it all? //snark 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Isn't the rum always gone because you drink it all? //snark I'll have you know that I have a plentiful supply of three different kinds of rum at home, as well as kahlua, Bailey's Irish creme, and several bottles of mead. ...I actually go through alcohol very, very slowly, due it only taking one drink to get me tipsy. 2

Fine, I consider my quip defeated. But I'll get you next time *Blink* The bookstore was out of Rothuss somehow, so I ended up with the three first Dresden Files, The Rithmatist and The Lies of Locke Lamora. Last one on the recommendation of the guy who worked there. And Ive been listening to The Exploding Eyes Orchestra's (BEST BAND NAME EVER) only album twice today... I havent listened to an album twice in a day since Graveyards Hissingen Blues... Todays rant sponsored by The Dark Alley: Baked goods you can't trust.

Zathoth Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Write about an electrokinetic who can manipulate technology, but accidentally gets sent to an alternate history where everything is steampunk. 4
Kobold King he/him Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Write about an electrokinetic who can manipulate technology, but accidentally gets sent to an alternate history where everything is steampunk. His opinion on this: Bonus points if he swapped places with a legendary steam engineer. 1
Zathoth Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 His opinion on this: Bonus points if he swapped places with a legendary steam engineer. I think we have a brilliant plot going on here. Bonus bonus points if important characters all over the multiverse gets displaced. 1
+Slowswift Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Bonus points if you watch a Mythbusters episode in Astronomy about the moon landing. 3
Zathoth Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I have no idea what that has to do with it, but have an upvote. 1
