The weather is better in Canada then somewhere else in the world?????  :o  :o  :o  :o  Where???

Speaking of weather, I'd like to let everyone know summer is officially over. Last week-end, it was still warm enough to wear shorts, but this week is trampled down to freaking cold which means: warmed coat, pants, gloves... Yeah. Yesterday, I had to wear gloves and long sleeves for my evening run. The wind was freezing.

Another 8 months to go before I get nice sunny warm weather again  :(  :(  :( I tried to see if going to Mexico this winter would be possible  Prices are prohibitive  :(  :(  :(

Australia, the land of the perpetual summer that will melt your eyes out of your skull.

Give me perpetual winter any day.

I just had a rough night

Don't really want to go into detail, but I just lost a few friends.

Don't wish for those things.... Australia sounds so awesome to us, Canadians.

Most Australians are pretty ok with it, although a 45C day is hot enough that even people who like summer start hating it a bit.

As someone who rarely goes outside unless absolutely necessary and suffers regularly from migraines anytime I'm in sunlight I'm really not a good fit for this kind of weather. -10C is still t-shirt weather for me which is about as cold as Australia ever gets. That's more my kind of weather.

Ah well sigh.

It hardly gets to 115F over here... Summer in Montreal sees temperatures ranking between 24 and 30C, with humidex, it can get as high as the mid-thirties or even high thirties, but we get that only for a few days, usually. This year, we had 30C weather up until mid-september, but now it is... 7....

In my yard, I can add about 3 or 4 degrees to the general prediction in the summer    I can swim in my pool from about mid or end of may up onto mid-September, approximately. Swimming in September or May is never guaranteed and even early June can be iffy. Imo, I don't have a heater, so I have to wait for the water to warm up, naturally. Once I get my heater, I'll get to swim from May to September into warm water (but watch for the electricity bill  ).

In the winter, it get as low as -20C. The last two winters had -20C for nearly two months, which is NOT usual. Typical, in the Montreal area, it stays closer to -10C. Still, it is cold, there is snow. Commute takes longer, getting ready in the morning takes longer, picking up the kids takes longer, everything just takes longer because we have to put on boots, winter coats, hats, gloves and all.

Honestly, winter is not SO bad... The bad part is the never-ending spring and fall. You know, by mid-March, we are ready to jump into summer, but no, no, NO. We've got to wait for another TWO months (usually wet ones) before it FINALLY kick-starts.

I won't talk of people NOT living with the Montreal region which arguably is one of the warmest.

So see, my dreams of summer are now coming to an end, up until next month of May.

Depression  :(

Not gonna lie that sounds like about the best weather I could ever hope for. Admittedly I've never had to deal with snow but again I almost never go outside  so I suppose it'd just be much the same as my current predicament of having to avoid sunlight. :P

My favorite part of the year, when it comes to wheater is the end of autumm. These are the some of the only few days I can actualy tremble in the chilling* wind right after sunset, but it still isn't as dry as winter itself.

*Of course, in the part of Brazil I live, "chilling" isn't much lower than 20°C.

No, its fine.

I'm just really critical of things and highly opinionated. They don't share a lot of the same opinions so we clash easily. Its happened a lot lately, and last night it was pretty bad. I just left, because it ended in them all cornering and attacking me.

"I hope you don't act like this in the adult world because it won't work"

¿¿¿¿¿

Wow, that sounds like something my mom would say. Actually, she HAS. Multiple times, just to shut me down because what I'm doing happens to annoy her at the moment. And yes, this means she's told me that neither speaking my mind politely nor keeping my thoughts to myself will work in the adult world. <_<

Your friends are wrong, and what THEY are doing is what won't work in the adult world.

ironicly they're all adults so maybe that's why they think they can speak to me like that

Maybe they're physically mature, but they're not adults. Adults can handle disagreement. They know that people have clashing opinions and can be friends anyway. They can address behavior they don't like in a way that doesn't require tearing down the person who is annoying them and that doesn't end with them cornering whoever they decided to speak with. Ganging up on someone and attacking them for behavior or opinions is not adult behavior.

I'm sorry, Lark, but your "friends" are not adults. They are children.

Basically the plot of Cutie Map.

And yeah. That is absolutely no way to treat a friend.

I know, I'm just gonna distance myself.

Honestly, it is getting a bit tiring for me anyway.

We've just been friends for.. five years now? Yeah, five years. Then I had to leave for a bit and everyone seemed to have changed. Or rather, I did. Different opinions, interests. We used to be so similar and now I can't find anything to talk about or relate to. So I've been grabbing at strings to try to get in the conversation, and oh storms do I do that wrong.

That's wise. Honestly, if they can't handle change, they're not worth changing for. You deserve better.

Ive been told Im horrible at cheering people up so I'll put the following in a spoiler so read it at your own risk Lark...

You'll do fine. Losing two people I considered my best friend had me realize that there is really no one you cant live without. You'll adapt, humans are rusting good at doing that.

Honestly if you've been growing apart so much and if they gang up on you then maybe just walking away is the best thing to do. It sucks not having friends, but it is better than having bad friends.Having to care about people you dont actually care about is more stressful than being alone, even if loneliness is painful. And you have the sharders.

I probably said something very insensitive in there somewhere. If I did Im sorry.
