Wayne burns Bendalloy and makes a Speed bubble...

  1. And there's a seeker outside the bubble. Could the Seeker sense the Bendalloy burning? Or is it to fast?
  2. And there's a seeker inside the bubble. Could the Seeker sense metals burning outside the Bubble? Or are they slow/distorted to the point that you can't sense them?
  3. And there's a powerful Smoker inside the Bubble. Can the coppercloud leave the Bubble?
  4. And there's a powerful Smoker outside he bubble. Can the Coppercloud Enter the Bubble?

Adopt-a-God...

Siri mentions at one point that an Idrian Returned. If this man's family had immediately bought a horse and sent him off to Hallandren before the first week was up, how would T'Telir respond? Would the accept him as one of their Gods, giving him a name and a palace and servants and, most importantly, a Breath a week to live? Or would they decide that they only want Hallandren Returned?

Do Identical Twins have Identical sDNA or Spiritwebs?

No.

Source:

Q: If two people are identical twins, and one is a Mistborn, will the second be Mistborn?

A: No. They could have different Spiritual DNA.

Was there a fall or regression in technological advancement when Adonalsium was shattered?

Were the magic systems used by the majority of people pre-Adonalsium or was the 'magic' kept only to a few? (I know that it likely would not make a great story if everybody had super powers so that's what I'm trying to get at as in if there is/was an actual reason.)

Is there a comprehensive Chronology for the Cosmere stories in terms of when each takes place relative to each other?

Not really.  The best we have is here.

How long has it been unsafe to world-hop to Sel? Did the event to make it unsafe occur post-Shattering?

A WoB to clarify this situation:

SUFFICIENTLYADVANCED

It says that it's dangerous to travel to Shadesmar on Sel. Why?

BRANDON SANDERSON ()

It has to do with the Dor and the lack of an entity controlling much of the power Odium left in his wake on Sel.

PHANTINE

Woah, that's interesting. I had no idea Odium left little bits of his power on Sel... I guess it kinda makes sense for evil monks to be powered by pure hate, though.

BRANDON SANDERSON

Odium did not leave his power behind, one should note. He left several other powers which are now, to a large extent, mindless...

WINDRUNNER17

This is an awesome answer!

If you wouldn't mind answering, does Roshar have a similar problem, with Honor being Splintered?

Thanks!

BRANDON SANDERSON

No, Roshar does not have the same problem. There are some differences going on. (One reason being that the spren are far more extensive on Roshar, and provide something of a "release valve." The Seons and the Skaze on Sel are not numerous enough to fulfill a similar function. Though, of course, that's only one part of the puzzle. Raw power is dangerous.

It's one reason everyone should be thankful Kelsier was around on Scadrial.

So maybe it doesn't answer it all perfectly, but it does give us a good idea.

Thanks. I might have to eventually do a full (re)read-through using that rough order, just because I think it's fun to read stuff Chronologically.

Same body, different soul.

Spiritual Realm is linked to the soul.

I am not sure that makes sense.  sDNA is inherited (which implies it is there at conception).  Identical twins start from a single fertilized egg, and separate later in development.  Therefore, I would assume they have both the same DNA and sDNA.  Unless sDNA can mutate during development.  I suppose that is possible.  Or maybe there are other factors that could affect sDNA as one goes through life.  (spiritual cosmic rays or something).

We don't know what sDNA is exactly, but it seems safe to assume that it's not very like regular DNA. sDNA likely refers more to the fact that you 'inherit' it in some ways, and that's as far as I would go with the analogy.

I've got two models for sDNA that I've been vaguely working on for a few months:

The first is that sDNA is a journal of your life. If you were born in Elendel, you get "I was born in Elendel on date X" written into your sDNA, along with "my parents are X and Y". Your sDNA constantly has new pages written as you go through each day. Naturally there is no reason twins would share the same sDNA under this model. If nothing else, a part of their sDNA would correspond to "I have a brother, X", and that is different for the twins. Hemalurgy in this model would be adding or removing lines from the book of each person's life.

Brandon has used sDNA and spiritweb interchangeably too. Another possible analogy is that your 'soul' is a bunch of threads connecting you to elsewhere in the world. Someone born on Scadrial has a line leading from them to their place of birth, a line leading to family members, a line leading to Preservation, and a billion other lines connecting that person to the things they've been in contact with. (I am visualizing this as each person being a sort of tangled mess of silk in the Spiritual, or perhaps a cocoon.) This analogy is useful for Shardblades, as it should be obvious what they do: they cut these lines, and suddenly you no longer have any connections to the world and you're dead. Hemalurgy in this system would just be snipping or attaching different lines. (I think someone posted this model before in another thread, and I shamelessly stealing it or else modifying it if I didn't steal it exactly. Sorry I don't remember your name whoever it was!)

This is massive speculation. I'm basing it off of Forgery in TES, which allows someone to change things by "changing their past", which likely means sDNA modifications.

If one half a Siamese twin ( Two spines, one set of legs, basically these lovely ladies, Abigail Loraine Hensel and Brittany Lee Hensel. ) was to be given Lerasium would they both be Mistborn or only one of them?

If a Shardblade severed one of their spines would the other die?

Basically I'm asking if they have separate Spiritwebs.

Is the current state of Odium controlled moreso by Odium itself or by Rayse?

I know Intent can change the personality of the Shardholder but Rayse was already a bit malicious to begin with, evidently.

I think that they would, because there's a WoB* that a Spiritweb is created at conception. There are two different fertilized eggs when Siamese twins are conceived, so I would guess that there would be two.

Do shardpools have any geographical restrictions?

The Well of Ascension had an interesting restriction. It was first located at the north pole, and when Rashek moved it, it actually literally dragged magnetic north across the planet with it. Is that a "geographic restriction"? "Wherever I am, it shall be the planet's magnetic north."

O.K. Then if there are two Spiritwebs and they share a stomach. If one of them was a Allomancer and the other wasn't, would the Allomancer be able to Burn metals that their twin consumed?

Has anyone asked him why half his male characters have "hawk-like" features? Because I need to ask him that. Because it's pissing me off.

(context: I'm going through all my books, currently on Mistborn, and highlighting ALL of the physical descriptions of characters for references and he has such a narrow range of describing facial features and other characteristics!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL AUTHOR YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO BETTER THAN THIS)

(seriously when I get all of Mistborn done I'm going to put it in one document and count how many times he uses the same words to describe people and how similar everyone is WHY THIS)

Have all of the Shards of Adonalsium ever worked together to accomplish something?

Edit: Also how would a shardblade affect a Kandra (without a skeleton)?
