Straw he/him Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 I would recommend waiting a while before getting No Man's Sky. Highly likely it will pul a Destiny and become a great game.
mattig89ch he/him Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I'm with straw on this one. NMS is a decent game, tons of potential. But there isn't much to do in it. No factions to join, no space battle to participate in, the NPC's just kinda sit there. And the exploration mechanic is...repetative. Your first planet will be awesome. Your second will be cool. Your third will be interesting, and by the forth, you'll be ready for something else. And...there isn't much else. I belive the saying is 'Its a mile wide, and an inch deep'. If they add in factions to interact with, maybe home worlds to discover, the ability to land on and/or interact with capital ships, to participate in wars, and even just fleshing out the flight mechanics more. Then that game will go from...meh, to amazing. Very quickly. I picked up the new release of Masters of Orion on GOG. So far, that game is good. I've never been much for 4x games, but I'm enjoying it right now. Makes me want to pick up Stellaris when it goes on sale. In masters of Orion the voice actors are great, the mechanics are simplified but decent. I'm in a war atm, chull holes attacked me when I tried to nudge them away from my neighbors. So, I moved that side of my empire to producing war ships. Once they are done, I'm going to have a fleet to wipe that empire out. Even started a colony behind another empires lines. They haven't attacked me yet, but I can't get any more ships past that border without starting another war. So that colony has a single war ship defending the system right now, and I'm building it up as fast as I can. Need to get more colony ships out there, and claim more territory.
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I just finished speed-running Emerald on a randomiser, let's call it....and interesting experience. I am going to start playing Lead and Gold soon as well as speed-run the other pokemon games
Datan Nomlibash Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Im playing through final fantasy 6 for the first time and it is sooooo good.

FF is my fav series and I enjoyed the hell out of all them till 13. 15 is coming to America in less then a month and I'm stupid happy about it! I'm just hoping that it ll go back to 1-9 era where we can control a airship and have total open world freedom... I've not played the MMOs or 13 3.
mattig89ch he/him Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I've never beaten a final fantasy game. I've tried, belive me. But they seem to drag on for so long. I, eventually, get tired of them and just stop. They're not bad games, don't misunderstand me. I played, 8, 10, and 10 - 2. Loved the characters, and the story up to a point. Just their length made me un-interested.
Straw he/him Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Getting hyped for Destiny: Rise of Iron. Notes: I can't believe how much better Destiny is after having two years to evolve. Also, Destiny players raised $500,000 for charity. 1

Great memories on this game. I'm taking a break till RoI with Neverwinter just so I can hit it hard for the 10 days I ll have to play it before FF15 is out. I max out every character to lvl 100, do every quest, get every top weapon and usually drop 110 hrs easy into each FF. I love it but I can see where that would get to be boring for some like person up thread.
Briar King Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Bought Dishonored PS4. Anyone played it?

Homicidial maniac/pacifist, visible/ghosting, powers/no powers etc? I like that game, especially the fact how the world tells a story itself: you can read through variosu books and notes everywhere, look at the graffiti, eavesdrop on people talking (I once listened to a guard explaining poker to another guard) and so on. It's fun. I'd say to not stick to any of the proposed runs on the first run and play it just like you feel. If you want to spare somebody - do it. If you feel somebody should die, kill them. Remember to use the Heart, it's not just a radar.
AliasSheep Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I've played a lot of Kerbal Space Program recently. I've only gotten to one other planet so far, and only at the beginning of that program, so I think I'm gonna get a lot of playtime out of this game...

Idk why I picked it up barring I liked the cover and it was $20 as I'm hip deep in Neverwinter atm with Rise of Iron and FF15 coming in a few weeks lol. Ed: went ahead and put it on. Man this is a great start. I love that it's using my PS4 controller speaker. Wish Destiny would. 2 yrs playing that makes me even forget it has a speaker so my controller almost flew out my hand it startled me so bad. Edited September 3, 2016 by Briar King
mattig89ch he/him Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I played and beat dishonered 3 times now. That game is amazing. I haven't had the heart to go full psyco yet, but I know enough about the world to have an idea what that would do. There isn't a moral choice system per-say. There are actions and consequences. Those consequences though, could be very dire. I don't want to say more, because I think I'd spoil it. But Dishonered is a very good game, and worth playing. Kudos if you can stick it out for full stealth. I remember playing KSP before there were landing gear. We only had the mun to land on, and we had to use fins to land very gently. That game is fun on the bun. I haven't played it for a while now, because I don't really like the campaign mode. I might try to come back to it, in sandbox mode though. There are a few places I haven't landed on (I've watched you-tubers land on them though). I will say, that game made me apreciate lights. Ever tried to land on the dark side of a planetoid, without lights? It isn't easy, believe you me. Decending towards the surface, with no idea how low to the ground you are, you see the ground coming up fast, and you go full throttle hoping you can slow enough to land and be able to take off again. Suicide burns, are fun when you can see the ground, and terrifying when you can't.
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I reaaaallly want to get dishonored, I think I will either wait for the next steam sale to get it, or ask for a console on my birthday and get it on that What do u guys reccomend
Yata he/him Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Actually I am playing to .Hack//OUTBREAK (old game for ps2) and I am near to the end of the game.
Left he/him Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I picked up an old play through of Majoras Mask that I never finished.
Briar King Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Oh man Dishonored is so addicting!! I'm enjoying it but SUCK at melee fighting. I prefer bolts to the head. Ugh dogs. In game bks are great. I can see TES all in this game for sure. Idk if Bethsda knows how to make games other then this style but I'm not complaining one bit. Totally loving it. When should I do the DLC stuff? Afterwards or during certain pts? cant wait to see the graphics on 2. Even though I'm playing remastered game it's still PS3/360 lvl graphics and still looks great.
Oversleep Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 29 minutes ago, Briar King said: I'm enjoying it but SUCK at melee fighting. Melee fighting? What's this? The only advice I can give you is the one the game gives: don't hold parry, time it to parry when somebody attacks, they become vulnerable and you can do a quick finisher on them. While you're finishing them, you can't be attacked, so that helps. 30 minutes ago, Briar King said: When should I do the DLC stuff? Afterwards or during certain pts? I haven't got to the DLCs yet, but from what I've heard the ones with plot should be done after main story. You're playing as the assassin who killed the Empress. What else? Get good at Blink, learn to combine it with jumping (as you can jump and Blink mid-air and reach places unreacheable with simple Blink); sliding is also pretty awesome when combined with Blink.

But I'm not exactly impartial. I have a 360, but haven't turned it on in months. If your pc can handle it on high graphics, I say go for the PC version. How much is it on steam anyway? Also, the DLC isn't great. The witches of Dunmore (I think thats the title) and the Knife of Kirkwall are awesome bits of DLC that add alot to the game. But the others are just there to try and exend the life of the game, without really adding much too it.
Briar King Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I'm in the brothel about to bum rush the room with twins in it. I'm having a blast and so is my son who insist on watching when he's here.

AliasSheep Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 And for myself, I'm launching up Crusader Kings 2 again. Time to try and be Wales for the hundreth time...
Briar King Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Moving along good in Dishonored now. destiny had a big update 8gb for RoI set up. TTK stuff is now gone from title screen! Getting close!
mattig89ch he/him Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Just abandoned a game in masters of orion. I was stuck behind 4 of those red warplanes. Then the insectoids showed up at my border, demanding I give them a piece of tech. Since I had no idea they had a fleet on a border, or how strong it was, I told them to screw off. Then they declared war on me, and started wiping the feild with eveything I threw against them. I was starting to ramp up fleet production, to take back star systems, and land marines on worlds. But then another race declared war on me. One of them, I might have been able to fight off. But not both at the same time. So I just quit that game. I could go back into it, since your never defeated until you accept defeat. But my battleships were only 160 combat units strong, and I was facing 2 fleets of 800 strong. I don't think I could have produced enough combat power to take out both fleets before they crushed me to dust., much less counter attacked. Besides that though, I started dragon age 2! I imported my save from 1, into 2, and am playing through it (albeit slowly). I'm not that much of a fan of 2 myself. But I wanted to get at least 1 full play through of it, so that's what I'm doing now.
