I also, finally got Mistborn in the mail today. I'm about a hundred pages in, I've got some hw to do, and then I'm gonna marathon tonight until I finish it.

Now you all put so much pressure on me  :o  :o  :o

Seriously, I am always anxious when new books from a favored author come out, moreover since I didn't overly enjoyed Firefight. I realize both stories are very different and targeted towards different readers, but still I have some lingering fear. I also, initially, was waiting for the release of BoM since both books were so close in time.

I have no excuse now  except finishing the book I am currently reading.

It is rare I see someone make reference to oldies such as these  :D You've got to love Bill and Ted: a classic

Stormlight Archive 3 is my most anticipated book ever and I have so many expectations I fear it is inevitable I will be disappointed. I am so afraid to read this one: I fear it will ruin too many things I have been taken for granted.  I know. Silly, but still.

Mistborn original trilogy are my favorite Sanderson books ever. But, Era 2 hasn't lived up to it. UNTIL Bands of Mourning. It was still different from Era 1, but it was amazing. It blew the rest of Era 2 out of the water and is up there in my favorite Sanderson books along with the original trilogy.

Actually, I rather enjoyed Alloy of Laws  :) I loved the Wax and Wayne team.

Then I think you should be fine. The worse that may happen is that the rest of us set the bar too high for you.

Aaand, I finished Bands! I liked it quite a bit more than Shadows of Self, but maybe not as much as I liked AoL.

I haven't read BoM yet, but knowledge bombs sound like a good thing to me.  I seem to be one of the few people who has no problem with info dumps, and actually enjoys them.

It comes with the fantasy territory. I don't see what the issue is. It might be kinda silly, but frankly so is the entire premise of the genre as well.

I should explain. What was distracting is every tidbit that was revealed had my mind racing and was crazy hard to concentrate and just enjoy the story. I think a re-read will help.

Wonderful. It sounds like this time I may be able to prove that it is indeed possible to dislike a Mistborn novel. I don't have a problem with info dumps, I actually really like them, but I don't like "kinda silly" things. And if we add to that that original Mistborn was never my fav series, and that Wax and Wayne series is not as good as a original makes me think that it is actually possible for me to dislike this book. So far AoL and SoS wer kinda 'meh'.

I'm currently trying to finish Abercrombie's First Law trilogy. I've read first 2 books before and I kinda liked them, but I never got to read the third one, so I'm reading it now. And it's such a dissapointment. First the book is extremely predictable, but enjoyable, and then it's completely random, but most reveals make no sense. I don't get it. Meh.

Once I'm done with this one, I'll read BoM, and hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised and amazed by that book. Let's be positive.

Macbeth for school. Mum read it to us children when we were little, and it's still fun.

When I have time I need to start DeadHouse Gates.

Since last time I posted I reread Firefight in anticipation of the upcoming Calamity. Reread A Night of Blacker Darkness by Dan Wells (delightful), and by then BoM and Secret History came out so I read both of those- both blew my mind.

I'm now reading The City and the Stars by Arthur C. Clarke, which is interesting so far. This is the third book of Clarke's I'm reading- I read Childhood's End, which I thought was superb, and Rendezvous with Rama, which was okay. Any Clarke fans out there?

I LOVED Childhood's End. The City and the Stars was okay, I thought it dragged. I liked the first two Odyssey books, although they were kinda formulaic and I didn't have the energy to continue the series.

I read the two first books as well but somehow never compelled myself to read the third one  It isn't the story wasn't good, it sure had some qualities, but it didn't drawn me in? I just didn't care about any character in there, so it was a huge miss for me.

I can't quite put my finger on why I seemed to not be able to like this story: it is a shame, it is so highly thought of.

Finished Blood Meridian last night and jumping back in Outlander 2. Blood was a treat to read but a lot just went over my head. A beautiful book though. I recommend it to y'all but it's very grim and brutal so be warned.

Rejiggering the Thingamajig and Other Stories by Eric James Stone. After I read his novel Unforgettable and thoroughly enjoyed it, I decided to go find more of his stuff. So far this collection of short stories is also very entertaining.

I just finished Frozen Tides, the latest book in the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes. Sparks, it was awesome! But ARGH, cliffhanger ending. Again.

Next I'm re-reading Firefight to prepare for the release of Calamity next week.

The Light Fantastic by Pratchett. It's okay, but I knew that it wasn't supposed to be as good as his later books so that's okay.

....I have got to start Deadhouse Gates and The Blinding Knife....it's not that hard Scott....They're just sitting there waiting for you....you want to read them....

Also going to re-read Fireflight before Calamity. Just finished a Steelheart re-read.

But first just started The Three-Body Problem which I've heard good stuff about.

What are the chances I'll become a Zucchini after saying that I just finished BoM and I did not like it?

That's okay, I wasn't very fond of SoS
