I'd put recommendations a bit more imo. Heck, I picked up Sanderson in the first place because of a recommendation of a guy about 3 times my age. (best decision ever!)

Agreed. One of my friends suggested I read Mistborn, not knowing about the cosmere, and now here I am...
And I read Kingkiller because of you lot.
And Worm because of a girl in my maths class...
And Six of Crows because of one of my other friends...
And quite a few others. Some weren't as enjoyable to others, of course, but I would put recommendations as more important.
