+Sorana she/her Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Fot the last one and a half years I lead a project and today we finally finished it. The Website is live, the production works. I can't really believe that we reached this milestone and that it's over for me. Feels a bit unreal right now. Now I have to wrap everything up and in august the next project starts. 2

+Sorana she/her Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 5 minutes ago, Mestiv said: Can you say more? What is this site? Sure! When we started, there was nothing but the idea that the Packaging market could be interessting. At the beginning we were a team of three with the fokus on Business Developpment/ Webshop/ Project Management, Production/ Project Management and Suppliers/ Products. We developped some concepts and how to enter the market in the best possible way. In the end we decided that a seperate shop for Packagings including an 3D online designer would be best. We then launched a One Pager first, teasing the possibility of indivdual packagings to test if our idea would work. Then we started working on the shop, because we got a real good ressonance from our customers. In the end it now has an 3D online desiger, so you don't have to be a graphic expert to design a packaging, but it also offers the possibilty to upload your complete data (if you want to use a programm like Illustrator). We integrated the backend in our company, so that e.g. the accounting can still use their programms, and our software for the deliverys works and so on. To ensure all these different connections we had to implement different reports and APIs and of course design a lot of new processes throughout the company. It's not completely ready of course, now it is neccessary to include more products, optimize the user experience, analyse how our customers behave and of course add new features. At the moment I'm collecting all the ideas and prepare to give them of to the team (now consisting of six members) so that they can continue with the daily work and improvements. Here's the link: https://www.flyeralarm-packaging.com/ It's in german, we haven't translated it yet, but I think you can get an impression. If you have any more questions feel free to ask! 3

Perhaps I get star struck too easily, but I think its really cool when a author replies to you. He seems like a nice chap and recommend his book Snakewood if anyone is looking for something gritty, avant-garde, and a really cool magic system. I know you posted this some time back, but that is just awesome! I would be star struck too for sure! I've considered writing to Brandon on numerous occasions, and have actually written out a few draft copies but then I always get embarassed and shy about it. Somewhat reminiscent of the time I went to his signing in Edinburgh and all I could get out was 'I-I...I LOVE WORDS OF RADIANCE!' before scuttling away. 1
Nathrangking he/him Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 I spoke to the big man himself about possibly being an outside contractor and he said that should the opportunity present itself I may be able to do so!!! 1
Ammanas Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 The conclusion to Lighbringer ended up being delayed a year, but at least they have a cover now and it looks great! Really looking forward to how it all turns out! https://www.orbitbooks.net/2018/08/02/cover-launch-the-burning-white-by-brent-weeks/ 1
+Slowswift Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Pretty stoked to go to see Music and the Spoken Word live tomorrow at the Conference Center in SLC! It's part of a family reunion that's been going on all weekend, which has been pretty cool. 1
AngelEy3 he/him Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 @Slowswift You must have a pretty cool family

+Sorana she/her Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 @SlowswiftCool! That sounds like a lot of fun. Our family reunions are really boring compared to that.

The stops aren't often pulled like that, but this was a particularly large reunion. The smaller, more "local" reunions are pretty tame -- just hanging out at a place usually.
Zelly Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 School's starting back soon! So far I've hurt my knee shoving desks and furniture around and soon I'll be covering everything in obscene amounts of patterned duct tape and apple/pencil borders. Extra exciting because they're still painting our walls and shelving and we're all having minor panic attacks about the time crunch. Time to get psyched for some learning wooooooooo I had a lot of coffee this morning. Also this afternoon. 3
StrikerEZ he/him Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 So the marching band I'm in finally found out the show theme this year about a week ago. It's gonna be so cool. Everyone is so hyped up this year, the show sounds like it's gonna be pretty awesome, and we have storming amazing music this year. I think if we keep the energy going until state finals we have a pretty damnation good chance of winning this year. Also, I got an audio recording of the opener from our most recent full-band runthrough...I've listened to it way too many times to count now. 2
