I mean, in a pinch we could just ignore this game and focus on the metagame. It's a terrible strategy, but it does avoid a lot of the complication.

To me that sounds like a really bad idea. I’d rather take the 50/50 chance and just commit to a side and hope for the best.

Don’t love this idea, but ig it’s possible the game plays out on its own in the opposite way the elims want

I doubt it tho, we are not living in a perfect world

I wasn’t really saying we should do that. Just that the added complexity doesn’t have to get in the way of solving the game. We can win by solving the metagame, getting this one right just makes it easier. I probably can’t convince everyone to chill on my porch with me, but I do think folks should just take things as they come and not overwhelm themselves with stuff we don’t have to bother with yet.

See now that I can get behind. There’s way too much complexity here for us to be adding more ourselves. There’s really nothing we actually know this cycle, we’re going to have to figure all the elim bet stuff out later depending on how the pseudogame goes, that’s kinda the whole point.

What we need to be doing right now is pretending this is the first cycle of a normal game and toss out some random votes to see what sticks. Then when the first pseudogame cycle is done and we have an actual data point, we can extrapolate from there.

(I can vote in thread, right? That is a thing we’re doing, the spreadsheet is just for note purposes?)

If it’s not in the spreadsheet it doesn’t count

Ohh okay

Well in that case I can’t do a vote that counts rn bc I can’t edit the spreadsheet currently but uh seems like the trend is voting inactive people so they become active so to that end

Hey everyone, I'm sorry, but something I wasn't expecting came up. I won't be freely available (although I may or may not be able to post one or two things) for the next turn (48 hours). I apologize for the inconvenience.

In a shocking turn of events, I find myself agreeing with Araris Valerian

With that said, I haven’t played in a long time, and I wanna reap the juice of this game if I can, which does mean tryharding the pseudogame

RP:

Evinir Cragborn walked the streets of his homeworld, his head down. Even now, after all these years, the place brought back memories. It was here, after all, where his life had changed forever.

The visions came back to him in flashes. The murders. The Wizard. A false friend, And then, peeking around the bars of his cell like a savior, Hoid. Damn Hoid.

He had fought for something, in those days. He had thought himself a hero. Now, he merely fought to survive.

He shut his eyes, and a lone tear began to trickle down his cheek. He ignored it, let it fall. It did not merit his effort. His uncle would have called it weakness. His uncle had died hundreds of years ago, fat and forgotten.

Only Evinir endured.

Hallandren had changed a lot since his uncle’s days. But some things never changed. Dodging stares from his Breaths, Evinir walked down side streets, until at last he arrived at what seemed to be a modern building. He went inside, and snuck past the manager into a secret level underneath. From there, he maneuvered his way down old tunnels, until at last, he reached a seemingly blank wall. He reached out with his hand, and spoke a Command. Slowly, the bricks peeled apart to reveal a passageway. It was still here.

Evinir walked into the hideout, and made sure the door shut behind him. He lit a match, and used it to light the torches perched throughout the walls. This place predated electricity. It, too, held a special significance for Evinir. It was here where he had first come into contact with Ekkar - poor, damned Ekkar Loral. After his feud with Hoid, Evinir had returned here, and set it up. In the centuries that followed, he had come only a few times - only when he truly needed to hide. This was one of those occasions.

After cleaning the place, Evinir sat down at the desk, and pulled out his spanreed and quill. Old fashioned as they were, they felt right in his hands. And those who needed to hear his words would understand him.

Evinir placed the quill on the paper, and began to write.

Uh, hi, I realized I hadn't posted in any of the threads yet, so here I am!

I have been talking with people but in PMs and in the world doc, so I have been here, and I have seen everything, I just haven't had anything to post in the threads.

I just don't want to get called out for not posting anything, so I guess here I am!

I’m pretty sure the elims have a major incentive to let this game drag on for a while, especially if they are confident in their bet. The reason is that conversions are more powerful the later on in the game that they take place. On the flip side, if the village wins quickly (causing the elims to lose their bet), we’ll get a some flips that won’t tell us much, since we won’t have any discussion to draw further connections with.

For this reason, I think the elims would bet on an elim victory, since it necessarily takes longer. So while it won’t result in as much carnage, I’d be in favor of the elims outing themselves (or at least one of them doing so).

I don't see any rule that says they HAVE to use the conversion as soon as they get it. They can choose to win the pseudo-game early and hoard the convert till late-game, no?

I believe so. Which means they could save it till they’re about to die(or close to) and then flip the game.

It’s what happened in the last conversion game. Granted, the right before we died was C1, but still

Yeah, which means that the argument that they would choose pseudo-elim to win to prolong the game to get the convert late does not really hold true.

If anything that just supports my theory of blitzing the game.

Oh. I was just assuming that a few folks flipped alignments at random, since the elims that get revealed also happens randomly. @The Unknown Medallion, could we get confirmation about this?

Edit: And conversion isn't currently listed in the metagame OOA, so that should probably be clarified if it is an action.

You should still submit a vote, even if it’s pure random, voting will always be better than not voting*

It was intended to be a choice, though it does not use an action.

I put it into the OoA for future reference, but it is after the Retiree Scan but before the kill and exe

Yo guys!

Sorry I haven't been on much

I have 77 notifs and 25 stored up from earlier, so while I will be more active I might not be able to sink in another post until later, and may not even get to it until late tomorrow again

So sorry, I'll try and get caught up as fast as possible

Coder leans back in his chair.

'Hey sory guys  haven't been supe ractve, thats my bad. I had some stff gong on, bt no I'm back!"

Darn it. His WUIR keys still didn't work. He should really get that fixed.

Whatever, he can just awkwardly hold down the caps lock key while he types.

He can deal with it, it's just really annoying.

"Yeah, so can anyone fill me up on what's been happening? Seems like I didn't miss too much, but I did get assigned a shardworld..."

"Also, FYI, I am pretty much unavailable between falling asleep and getting back from school, so the fastest way to contact me is PMs, because I check those much more often, and before I check anything else. I actually responded to a few PMs from people asking for my take. So just... Yeah. If you find me being unactive, or really need to my opinion so much that you would poke me (that's right, I saw those. I saw nothing else, but I did see those!) then like. PM me, cmon!"

Coder hits submit. Hopefully they accept this response. After all, he did respond.

Hopefully he doesn't fall under too much pressure.

And all this stuff about RP characters turning on their players? Coder thinks its a nothing burger. Of course RP characters would be alive, but why would they turn on their writers? Whatever, CD would never do anything like that.

Coder bulted up in his chair. Right. He joined the game as CD! He better do some RP, otherwise the GM would think him lame...

He quickly edited the post adding in italics, "CD walked into the"

And then he stopped. What even was the premise of this game anyway? He was sent a message about a... shardworld? He thought this was some random mistborn village, not whatever this is.

Coder canceled the edit and just sat there, waiting for a response.

Hopefully they get back to him soon. I mean, Coder is a busy man. He doesn't have all day.

Reminder that you have a bit over 13 hours to get your votes and actions in. You are using your Pseudoroles today.

(I say, knowing full well that there's going to be a flurry of votes and actions at rollover and all of my prep is going to be useless)

Edit:

It should also be noted that several people have put in orders to do something that doesn't require an action (e.g. gaining one investiture on Roshar or giving two investiture on Nalthis)
