You know, when I had this conversation with KSOHS, I was not talking about myself. I really did not go into this game intending to get converted. Funny how it turned out.

I didn't actually read the threads like at all, but just from reading the dead doc, it looked really fun!

Hopefully I can find the time to play the next game.

After seeing what Stick said in her post, I felt bad because I did leave abruptly and she interpreted that in a way that made her clear me

yeah unfortunately i could not actually finish my investigation of ur claim the way i did jo’s due to that (such as what discerning player claimed to u and why, since Jo confirmed he had not claimed to anybody but me and TUM, digging deeper into ur cycle 3 action results, etc) and this meant that i just had to work with incomplete and one-sided information which messed with the conclusion quite a bit since i had to fill the gaps with assumptions but irl happens it’s def out of our hands

something of note to the village, in late-game u MUST try to mech-solve the game as much as u can, i mentioned one example in the dead doc about how u could have attempted to clear/out villagers with investigative roles such as TOW and Doc by leveraging actions economy

Okay, I still don’t have time for actual thoughts, but good job everyone, @Wahrheitswächter, @Qianweilian, @coco.pudding, yall did good for your first game, I can’t wait to play with you again.

The game was so fun to spectate, I’m not really mad I got exed out c1, it was really fun to watch. Also, the Doc/Jo rp was incredible, loved every bit of it

I was reading through some parts of this game when I had the time and from the bits I had read, I had fun haha. Did not expect at all that Mistfallen and Archer would get taken out C1.

I liked how Stick locked in C4 and immediately got killed after because of how big of a threat she was to the elims :P. Also, Doc really plays a scary elim game omg. I think I'll be wary of you again the next time we play lol

Also, I was surprised when TOW actually flipped v and that he really had just missed submitting actions one too many times 😭. And I was really impressed with the newbies' play.

Hopefully, I'll have the time to play the next game

Archer who technically won

...the best kind of win!

Congrats, Jo and Doc. That was insane.

Thanks for running this, IM, GMs! I enjoyed the writeups, and the doc was fun to hang out in. It's really hard to balance a game that's so precarious. Only caution I'll give is that the power role holders were pretty predictable (Discerning me/Jo and SK TUM), but hey, metagaming got me killed immediately, so I got my karma.

I enjoyed my playstyle, and will probably try that again in a future game, regardless of alignment. Kudos to the folks who were on to me C1! (You don't count, TUM :P) Pleasure playing with all of you, especially the new folks - welcome!

kudos to Doc for being pure evil, if he ends up in the next game same as me I will be afraid

Oh I promise I am not that scary :P Dive you've been evil with me once (kinda) and we lost bad in the AN XD

It's funny that you spectators didn't even see my PMs - I was chatting up almost all the villagers and telling them what they wanted to hear, which is why no one suspected me in the end :) But then again, I PM everyone regardless of whether I'm evil or good, so always trust me when I'm PMing you because I am friendly and kind :D

i started village! Blame Mistfallen!

EDIT to avoid double posting

I think one of my only regrets this game, apart from the cycle where I was absent, is that I wrote a lot of RP but it couldnt' be public. Part of the reason Nienna and Jojala hit it off so well is that Jo and I started RPing in our PMs, and I started chronicling Nienna's conversion and madness in the elim doc (you should read it if you haven't Nienna is actually a super sympathetic character and the real hero of the story :P), but of course couldn't post those. There was sadly a bit of a fall-off in RP after c1, and I should have contributed a little more. I will say, @Wahrheitswächter, the reason I killed Qian over you last day was because Marne's whole thing was that they wanted to be left alone, and I respected that :P

Very considerate of you to respect Marnes wish of being left alone.

Some things I will try to improve on in my next Game: being a bit less naive, I trusted Jo until he started accusing me, and I did trust Doc until the very end. Also I should probably try not to upset the whole village Day 1, I think If I wasnt new, I would have been Dead Day 1. Oh and I think need to do more to try and solve the Game, In retrospect I noticed that I mostly followed the lead of other players when deciding on who to Vote.

You see, I got outed by deepwolfing, but now I want to see if I can make the way I act as a deepwolf the way I play normally.

If Stick hadn’t called me out for it, I could’ve lasted at least another cycle. TUM wasn’t going to call me out on it.

I can’t wait for next signups

I never really trusted Jo, but I did Doc and Mist.

Yes, me as well.

I looked, and I think the main problem is that your first vote was a jump on a train, then you suddenly switched votes seemingly without reason.

GG elims! Really wonderful Elim play @Doc12! I always think we should interact more but I got killed early this game :P.

Also, I want to be a neutral/SK again smh, it's been a while >>

As as I didnt participate much Day 1, I never had much of an opinion on Mist, and I trusted Jo because he was the first who suggested not to kill me, that made me trust him and back then he was still Village

Yeah your right that wasnt the smartest play on my part, I jumped on the train mainly because I was like well, we are two pages in already, lets put a vote in, who do I vote? Well the person other people are voting for seems like a smart choice and them when archer called me out and voted me, I was like: thats not good what do I do now? Vote someone else, anyone, doesnt matter who, probably someone who hasnt posted yet, that cant be bad. And when more Votes piled on me, my Brain went into full panic mode: What do I do? I wanted to solve the problem not make it worse, how do I make it go away? Just do nothing, anything you do will make it worse.

Doc, I’m looking through the elim doc, like what? You’re so manipulative. You didn’t even start elim, so you were genuinely trying to be nice and investigate people, but then you turned into a prolific liar overnight (overnight for me at least).

I definitely don't count, I killed you because I thought you were a villager reaction testing

How happily I would have granted my burden to thee :P

This gives me an idea for a converting SK, they pick X players, one of whom randomly gets the SK role, with the original player becoming a villager. This means it would be nearly impossible to track, but no one who doesn't want it/wouldn't be able to win with it will have it

@Wahrheitswächter @Qianweilian @coco.pudding u all did really well for ur first game! subbing actions on time (for coco) and making sure u vote & give reads is pretty much all u need to start off as a villager.

it’s hard not to follow the herd/choose the path of least resistance in these games so don’t beat urself up over that - which, at least early game, is actually perfectly fine to do because that’s when the majority of the voices in the thread are village so the votes will likely be village-led by default. but late-game is when it gets tricky because u basically have to tune out everyone else & try to think independently bc that’s when the elims are likely already driving the narrative

hope ull all stick around!! It’s so nice to see SE alive again

This is why Doc is scary. So it’s always best to have him on your side, even if he doesn’t know he is

Hoid's GM Thoughts:

First off, massive thanks to Twinstorm for this opportunity. I had an absolute blast running the game with you, even if I sacrificed perhaps a bit too much sleep

As for the game itself:

It's a very volatile ruleset. The way things worked out, the elim and village teams were just about balanced perfectly for a good fight at the end, but in any other case, I'm afraid elims would have been a bit too overpowered in this case. One thing we didn't take into account was the potential of an elim spren as an additional player: had IHAT and Archer lasted a bit longer, they coulda entered C3 with functionally 5 elims

I liked having two conversions; I feel like it's a good balance to allow the elims to build their team and really use the tool without making it OP. I'm glad we used it as an extra to NKs, not a replacement, as in the one conversion game I've played in the past I felt really weird about suddenly switching sides - and everyone winning in the end

I think the ideal elim team makeup for a group of this size is what we did, but minus the elim spren. Maybe we could have made one of the elims a spren to a village player - but no, then they could just betray their team. It's a complicated thing to figure out.

I like the way we distributed the other roles. Two Heroics are a nice stable point. I do agree with Archer that the power role distribution was a little predictable, but that can be adjusted

I was scared at the start that the Shardbearer might fall quickly and not really have a prominent role, but I'm glad to see that didn't happen, and they were actually in the running for a win for a bit at the end there

I'm not really sure what else to say

A lot of fun stuff could be done with spren to change the game up significantly in future playthroughs.

Overall, it was just a great experience, and I look forward to playing with all of you in the future

I really screw myself over whenever I play really well evil because then no one trusts me in a game when I'm village 😛

@Hoid Slayerno thoughts about me ? 🥺

Looking back, there really was an alternate game where I didn't get converted c1. I had found the Shardbearer c1, and we could have lynched him c2, making it all the harder for whoever did get converted to even the score. So again, Mistfallen's one action changed the game (even though I had to put in all the work )

lol

We were going to do Jo, and then it switched to you, so at least one of you would’ve been an Elim, if not both (perhaps Jo would have converted you)

But anyways, yeah, I am very proud of myself for doing that
