That might depend on just how much time we spend on our particular parts of the shard. I find the largest culture shifts happened in the Cosmere discussions. They also tend to occur more heavily following a recent publication. One thing I like to do is sort threads by the most posts and look at the number and the year, it gets you a pretty good idea as to what the community thought was interesting or controversial in any particular era. 1

I was mostly saying that the style of posts (to me) doesn't seem to have changed a lot, unlike in the example I gave. The topics certainly have, but it still feels like it's generally either "can this thing happen" or "what do you think would happen if 'x' happened". Not entirely, this is obviously a broad over-generalization, but that feels like the general trend. although, I pretty much only spent time in Cosmere Q&A/Discussion at the very beginning of my shard time (life? career? pastime? I have no idea) and now, closer to the end. I haven't been there too much.

I doubt the culture will shift too much. Pure-movie watchers are unlikely to post on an online book forum. Although, we could maybe use a separate adaptation section.

TwinStorm He/Him Posted January 29 Posted January 29 (edited) 54 minutes ago, Immortal Platypus said: it wasn't very different, it was mostly just different people that I interacted with differently, so it's mostly my perception that changed. and this is, of course, primarily in TLT and other forum games things. The cosmere Q&A or cosmere discussion doesn't seem to have had much of, if any, culture shift. As an example of culture shift, TLT has shifted several times, even while I've been here (but I assume several more than even that). When I first joined, it was very chaotic, pretty much the game where you tell a story and each person says one sentence. Then, some plot got added, but it was still somewhat chaotic. Random crap happened. Then, it got much more plot heavy, with long, many-paragraphed posts (Thaid's post on page 2500 is a good example), then after Thaid left and some others joined, posts got shorter and happened much more frequently (I wasn't able to keep up, which is a major reason I don't post on TLT much anymore), and I'm sure there have been small changes since then. each "culture" is similar to the ones before and after it, and some are tangentially related to older "cultures", but some don't seem to connect at all. All that happened in 2-3 years, so while it can change a lot, I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. shhh. I like to pretend I'm a wise old man and people forget they can check when I joined lol I just put up a post which was directly inspired by Thaids 2500 in style on TLT be curious to see what you think Edited January 29 by TwinStorm
Nesh he/him Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I'm excited, but I do worry about this delaying Ghostbloods. In his reddit post, he said he'd be working on the Mistborn (presumably just Final Empire for now), screenplay for the next five months, between that and him needing to do edits of Fires of December... 1
lordofsoup Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Well hopefully they will at least attempt to follow the books unlike wot. Though Amazon lost a ton of money so at least it ended well. 2
CoderDrag0n8 He/They Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I feel confident, that given Brandon has the final say, he will not let a train wreck be made of his series. I believe in him o7 1

dannnex male Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Personally I'm pretty excited. Apple has made some genuinely high quality content recently. Severance S1 is one of the best seasons of TV of all time. My biggest concern is scale, they might not invest as much into it as they could due to it being an unproven franchise. This deserves to be huge, I hope they aren't too scared to take that risk. 4 hours ago, Shatter said: My main question is how will this affect the forums. How will our culture survive a large influx of new members? brother no offense but you've been here for a year and a half you are the new members 3

Aliroz-The-Confused Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Why? Why does mister Sanderson hate the original Mistborn trilogy so much?
