I thought we had another 24 hours until rollover...

If we all RP getting the boss mask, Aman has to give it to us

This is true. The trouble is we wouldn't have the power to ensure we kept it😅

I saw that, but that doesn't seem relevant to what I was saying, or at least was already incorporated into the logic that lead to my position. 😅

Ah, ok. Maybe Doc also misunderstood what you meant or he was referring to something else. I'll leave the reply to him then o7

You can certainly try. Surely a Zora has some useful traits / abilities.

Just keep in mind this will be harder than in the game. I plan for a lot of no names to die :P

Okay, yall, but funny thought. What if all three people who’ve been killed are Elims. Like, we exe Wahr as Elim, then they NK Ashbringer to muddle the waters, and then we got lucky and TUM is Elim. If that is the case, I feel like the last Elim has to NK themself.

Just don't call them red shirts

Nah, they’re “Fiery-Orange with a bit more red” shirts. Because Star Trek wouldn’t let us borrow their people

Edit:

Right now I don’t think theres anything new to talk about, anything I say could potentially give the Elims info for their last NK, so today is just a RP and laugh day for me

Same. Probably for everyone, tbh

Amora steels herself for the battle to come, drawing on all her training to stand her ground in the face of the horror in front of her. The last few days have all come down to this. She is ready. She can only hope her companions are, too.

Sword held high, she prepares to charge.

Kieran drew his short sword, falling into a battle stance. He wasn’t sure if he’d be able to dodge the attacks of this thing, but it was always better to be probably dead than definitely dead.

After the chaos that had happened getting here, including the disappearing of a few members of the expedition along the way. Hopefully they’d be able to find them. Maybe after defeating this, if they could, they’d find them. But Kieran couldn’t focus on them right now. If he wasn’t careful, he’d die before he found out what happened to the others

"You fellahs are dead meat!" Ouae helpfully spectated. "Just like my Copious Meat Skewers. Just shove a bunch of meat onto a skewer and you're good to go."
She felt the compelled urge to do something.
"What do you expect me to do? You think all Zora have a special combo move we can break out on a whim?" She waved her limp skewer. "I heard waterskins helped against the Gekoskeletons. Here, as you go to your deaths, take the POWER OF WATER! (Represented by me misting you gently, like I would a troublesome cat)."

People talk about a fight or flight reflex. It's something you readily accept as your lived experience starts supply examples of the concept. Those times you jumped at sudden loud noises. That time someone woke you from a nightmare and in that moment of confusion when you find yourself in a dark room with someone's hand on your shoulder you just throw a punch before the fog of that moment clears and you realise it was family looking out for you. What you don't stop to consider is that 'fight' and 'flight' are not the only (well, they are not exactly choices, so perhaps) outcomes in the immediate moment of acute stress.

It turned out that a time to consider that there might be more ways that moment could go could in fact include the very moment in question. Surprisingly, his mind noted as it considered, it made for quite a good example of such an alternative outcome.

The eye had opened. The sword had been raised. And for Link, time had slowed, sound and light bleeding away as in this moment he felt almost like an observer in his own body, not really connected to anything in a dark tunnel with a shrinking image of the Masked Jungle Warrior leaping at its end.

Thump.

...

...

Thump.

A sound shook the tunnel. And a little while later a second. He felt strangely unconcerned as he examined the dark tunnel.

Thump.

...

...

Thump.

More time passed. It was odd that he could feel like he was moving yet nothing truly shifted. Ready for the second pulse he concentrated on working out where it was coming from. Watching the walls, he didn't seem the telltale signs of a shock wave passing through solid matter, yet he still felt it.

Thump.

...

Thump.

He looked down. After a moment, his head responded to his will. He stared dumbly. Then it dawned on him. With that the moment collapsed, reembodying himself as the tunnel lightened, the vision at the end growing as it rushed to meet him, silence becoming white noise into whine than grew into a cacophony of shouts and screams. As it settled in, he realised that one of the screams was his own. He didn't stop it. He felt the moment warranted it.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.

He stood and watched as those around him moved like a wave to confront this monstrosity, this dark temple guardian, fright freezing him as solid as ice might.

He felt an arm on his shoulder. A voice yelling in his ear. He wondered why he could hear the screams but not make out the voice.

...

The hand slapped him. Everything finally focused as he properly snapped out of it.

"Don't stop moving!"

Had a bunch of new thoughts, but it'll have to wait until the start of the next loop

Still have 5 RP posts to make, but my free time's getting swallowed by a bunch of new stuff that released this week lol

Hm. It being a tie is interesting. But ties being broken by rupee counts makes that result somewhat predictable given tums low rupee claims and being able to mostly track peoples income. Will have to see how this goes.

Cindra felt very unprepared for this situation. She had gotten a crash course in some combat from a friendly guard during the day, but that wasn't going to do that much. She was a flute player. The most she could do with that was to be a pleasant sounding distraction. So she kept back for now, maybe she could help in other ways? She kept watch for anyone who falls. Maybe she could help get them out and get them help.

Relatable.

We have an impending issue once the Blast Mask is donned. It is best used as an NK trap. Unfortunately, PMing the wearer will cause you both to die.

@Amanuensis does the Postman target players on behalf of senders or do players target others directly with PMs?

If multiple people target the wearer, does everyone die or just the first? (Group suicide strat might be in play)

Edit: D1, I'll give everyone who claims their masks and actions a delicious, home cooked meal from the wrong Zelda game

- Players sending PMs all target Postman
- Postman delivers PMs, targeting all recipients

Amora glances at those around her, the warriors standing in a battle line, weapons held at the ready, and those who could not fight, but who had bravely joined the expedition regardless, holding back but clearly prepared to do what they could.

She levels her sword forward at the enemy in front of them, for a moment considers making a grand speech as the heroes of old have done. But she is no hero of old and there is no time. So instead she simply shouts “Charge!” And begins to rush toward the boss.

(Unless I’m just dumb and someone’s already actually initiated the fight?)

Following up on this, I should note that Postman's Hat is a Hat instead of a Mask, so it can be stacked / worn alongside a proper Mask.

Quote
  • Wearing versus Holding
    • Players CAN ONLY wear 1 Mask at a time (others may be held in inventory)
    • Hats/Hoods can be stacked with a Mask but not each other
    • Unless otherwise stated, Masks require a Day/Night Action to equip or remove; players CANNOT use the Mask’s ability the same Turn it’s equipped/removed
    • Most Masks have a limited number of uses and break until the next Loop upon exhaustion

Oh I missed this part so will be more explicit.

So, everyone who targets the Blast Mask when it's triggered will perish. Most likely this will result in the Postman delivering to the Blast Mask and them both exploding. Or if coupled, everyone sending a PM to the Blast Mask Postman goes kabloey.

Noble careers always come with some risks, I guess.

D : I don't wanna blow up

More PMs last night! I love this hat. Mistfallen sent me a long one I don't have time to respond to right now but I want to. Someone sent the same person multiple PMs, which is interesting.

Oh ninjad. Yeah unsigned messages are very funny because I can see who PMed who. I will reveal stick and wonko got 2 PMs from the same person, who can reveal themselves if they want.

Thistle didn't want to be here. They had no weapon save a stick they picked up for the trek and a bag full of bandages and herbs. They stayed back from the fight, heart pounding in their chest.

They'd been roused by one of the other volunteer medics - Nora - and told that the fighters were going deeper into the woods, and she and others was going to help support them. The other medics were good at binding wounds and splinting bones, but they didn't have any healing potions or know much herb lore. So Thistle had to come as well.

Along the way, they hung at the back of the train, keeping their eyes out for helpful plants. Clumps of yarrow, some bright berries, truffles or mushrooms, anything that could help give the fighting or injured an edge.

But now, as fighters charged in with a terrible cry and clash of metal, all Thistle could do was cower in the back.
