LewsTherinTelescope Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Forewarning: If you're looking for serious theorizing, this thread is not the place! This is definitely pretty out there lol. So since last week's chapters I've been toying with the idea that the Night was broken apart into the Unmade, in almost a mirror of the Shattering. And something in this week's chapters gave me another thought... Quote “So the night will reign, for the choice of honor is life . . .” Quote “Three of sixteen ruled, but now the Broken One reigns.” Quote To separate the power from those who are attached to the Physical Realm… that should frighten you. It is not so terrible a thing for part of me to despise you. But for the power of a god to? Dangerous. For all of us. Quote “Agreed,” Pattern said. “Mishram became like a god to the singers—the parshmen. She Connected to Roshar, and echoes of that filtered to the spren! Ah, so wonderfully odd. Her imprisonment is the reason broken bonds now have such an effect on the spren.” “It is because…” Maya said, “…humans have no Honor. The god, I mean. I heard… I heard that Mishram had been captured. I heard that… that Radiants would destroy the world. That was why I decided. Decided I was done.” She shook her head. “I don’t know it all. I’d like to. Considering what breaking… breaking the bond did to me.” That day—the day Mishram had been captured—something deeper had happened. An event connecting humankind, Honor, spren, and the bonds. ....what if Mishram was gunning for Honor somehow, and she's going to reassemble herself into Night and take the Roshards?? 4
Njvodin Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Wow, that is definitely out there, but super cool!

We do know she was trying to make herself a God last time around by connecting to all the singers so perhaps this isn’t far off. Would be funny if the Back five is our team of heroes join forces with the new Odium to fight against the new honor (mishram ) 2
teknopathetic he/him Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Maybe “the broken one” refers to The Stormfather.
BinarySecond Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 A flip of Honor being the villain in the back half is a nice theory

Oh wow, that's... pretty out there. It definitely fits to what the Stormfather said to Gavilar in WaT Prologue: Quote [...] some brave Radiants trapped Mishram in a gemstone to prevent her from destroying all of Roshar. Is that even possible? Tanavast still was alive back then and still was Honor's Vessel when Mishram was imprisoned. Honor was Splintered some time after the Recreance. 1

Perhaps she was able to hijack him, in a sense? Almost an invasive or cancerous avatar? (I have no idea if that works even a tiny bit or not.)
