Cephandrius Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Granted. You are now an Alethi darkeyed man. In Hearthstone. Without right of travel. And of the tenth nahn. And Kaladin's mom died last week. Basically, you can't read, and you can't learn. So the books on your table get used for kindling in winter. I wish to go through life by improvising at every step and then teling everyone it"s all part of my master plan.
Vander Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Why not? Of course, you realize that everything you improvise ends up going totally and horrifically wrong. It doesn't affect YOU, though: instead, everyone you love pays the price. You are forever burdened by the guilt of causing your family so much grief. You could end it at any time, but you know that that would make it worse for them, so you suffer further. Your bane is that your "master plan" is to be immortal. You succeed. I wish to know whether that bane was too harsh or not.
Brightness Enna she/her Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Well, Car'a'carn, you can be as harsh as you need to be. Don't question your actions and you won't feel guilty. Wish granted. Now you get the bane: you continually make very clever Sanderson references and puns, but never around people who will get it, and when you try to remember the extremely intelligent comments, you forget them. I wish for more (edible) chocolate chip cookies.
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Granted, but you now always smell like raw onions. I wish for a glass of water.
Observer Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) You get a glass of water. I hope it was worth it, because you see everything as if you were wearing swim goggles filled with water from now on. I wish for the ability to complete any task I wish within a single day, should the actual time taken to perform it exceed 24 hours. Edited March 1, 2016 by Observer
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Granted. You now smell like Muamahara. Apologies to Muamahara. But he DOES smell. as if he had never heard of the word clean. I wish Muamahara never knows that I said this
Observer Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Granted, it will never be learned. But you will also receive your own bane, for this is what karma is. I wish for Alchemy, from FMA Brotherhood.
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Granted But you shall be shunned wherever you go. I wish for some jelly beans
Bugsy he/him Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) Granted But you shall be shunned wherever you go. I wish for some jelly beans Granted, but they're all the Bertie Botts earwax flavorI wish for the ability to fly Edited March 2, 2016 by Bugsy6912 1
Brightness Enna she/her Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Granted. You have the ability to fly, but you've never been able to figure it out. Your bane is that you never will. I wish for magic to exist and be used in the real world.
Citadel16 he/him Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Granted. You are blown up by a young wizard. I wish for a stick.
Pathfinder Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Granted. You are blown up by a young wizard. I wish for a stick. Granted, but it is stuck somewhere rather unpleasant and you cannot remove it. I wish for Sanderson to become popular enough that I could purchase his merchandise in a more prevalent and affordable manner than through badali jewerly alone. My fiance was awesome enough to make me a funco inquisitor herself but still would be nice for her and my relatives to be able to get me a christmas/birthday gift easier lol. 1

Granted, but it becomes so popular that all of the Cosmere's mysteries are unraveled by the billions of fans and there's no more point theorizing. I wish to ace all of my tests 1
Paranoid King he/him Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Very well. You perform everything perfectly the first time you do it each day, but perform horribly the rest of the time. Better hope you don't have two tests in one day. I wish I would stop bumping my funny bone.

Better hope you don't have two tests in one day. I wish I would stop bumping my funny bone. Granted. You've lost both your arms, so you don't have a funny bone to bump anymore I wish to be a full mistborn
Paranoid King he/him Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Granted, but if you touch metal, you become violently sick. I wish for the ability to create cybernetic arms without using my hands
Rasarr she/her Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Granted, your mere thought creates a cybernetic arm in a random place around you. The problem is, it's hard to take under control, so any place you stay in for longer than a few dozen minutes starts to spawn more and more cybernetic arms. I wish to exchange my bane of deafness for something else, that won't impact my speech, appearance or hearing.

Vander Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Go for it. I`ll even allow you to read it. However, at every 50th word you get violently sick, and every new chapter the symptoms worsen. You go into a coma after finishing the last chapter, and lose the ability to read or be read to in any way should you ever awaken. I wish for all banes ever given in this thread to be conferred irrevocably upon whoever grants this wish, the moment they grant it.
DrakeMarshall he/him Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Granted. Your bane is that you are undergoing psychosis, and I am actually one of your split personalities... I wish to become my own distinct being, and to be free of the depths of Car'a'carn's unstable psyche (while leaving the prior banes still resting on him, obviously). Edited March 3, 2016 by Drake Marshall 2
Sunbird she/her Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Granted. You are left unable to emotionally connect with anyone. I wish for a three-day weekend.
Patar he/him Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Granted. You will spend the entire weekend in a coma. I wish for a box full of goldfish.
Sunbird she/her Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Granted. They are actual live goldfish in a cardboard box, but they soon suffocate without water, leaving you with a horrible burden of guilt. I wish for a bag of Dove dark chocolates. 1
polkinghornbd he/him Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Granted, you get a box of doves covered in dark chocolate, and they soon die from, you know, being covered in chocolate, leaving you with a horrible burden of guilt. I wish that Donald Trump loses the Republican Nomination
DrakeMarshall he/him Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Granted. Sadeas comes back from the dead, travels to earth, and wins the republican nomination instead. You can decide for yourself whether or not that was worth it. I wish for a horrible burden of guilt. Edited March 3, 2016 by Drake Marshall 1
