  1. Granted, but you never reappear where you mean to be. I wish for unlimited power.
  2. Granted, you are now a Mistborn. The Bane is your ironsteelsight is really really bad. Like if Wax has 20/20 steelsight, you really need the equivalent of glasses. All 16 powers work fine, just the blue lines don't go very far. I beseech the Nightwatcher to make me a Kryptonian.
  3. I'm going to be honest, I thought "Stormlight Avalanche" was a metaphor for highstorm. That said, I agree that oathbringer's avalanche was overwhelming, mostly because there were two: Kholinar and Thaylen City. I knew there were hundreds of pages left during the Kholinar battle, but I was so convinced they would take back the city it really felt like the end was near. Even after Elhokar's death, I kept thinking things would turn around on the next page. My favorite avalanche in other books is really Hero of ages. Even though in hindsight the quotes above each chapter (epigraphs? is that the word?) were clearly written by sazed, I was so convinced early on that it was all written by Elend underground with the world ending around him that I ended up ignoring the ones about power manifesting as mist, partially because I was too hooked on finding out what was going to happen next to think about it.
  4. The nightwatcher grants your wish. At your request, no curses have been placed on you, however, your Bane (see what I did there?) is a storm cloud following you and raining on your head 24/7 for the next 16 eternities. I wish to win the lotto.
  5. The nightwatcher grants your boon, but attaches the Well of Ascension to the back of your head, so every pulse the well makes when it’s full knocks you unconscious. (I can’t remember if compounding increases allomantic powers or feruchemical powers, so if I’m wrong just go with it.) I desire this boon from the glorious Nightwatching Goddess of The Valley: the Triforce and all the power it conveys.
  6. The nightwatcher grants you what she feels you deserve, and curses you with something that may or may not be completely unrelated. ( turns out you’re that guy who wanted a bolt of cloth to sell to get his family through the winter and ends up seeing upside down for the rest of his days. ) i beseech the nightwatcher to grant me the powers of a mistborn and the weaponry of a Jedi. (Seriously, imagine it, a mistborn trained in lightsaber use, using atium, would kick so much chull. )
  7. Granted, but you forget everything you learn when you wake up every morning. I ask the boon of truth: I wish to know who the nightwatcher really is, and all the other secrets of the universe.
  8. The Nightwatcher grants your boon, and brings you to the Tenth Heightening immediately. Your bane is that you lose a few every time you sneeze. I beseech the nightwatcher to grant my boon: Give me a copy of these three books: The Lost Metal, The Winds of Winter, and Doors of Stone. (I canhold out for Oathbringer since it has a few more months to go.)
  9. Wax's weightpushing trick at the end of AoL, applied with TLR's sheer power and expertise? not only could he blast it out of orbit if he chose but he could probably pick which rebellious skaahole he wants it to land on (Urteau), then lower it gently enough to squash the Citizen and his ilk without too much disturbance to the surrounding villages.
  10. Granted. BTW, Wyndle's mom told me to tell you you that the name of every person, place or thing you hear or read will look like "HaChaChaCha" from now on. I wish I knew why the one time Navani asks Dalinar about Shshsh it shows up in yellow print in my ebook copy. Seriously, that's the only instance of yellow print in my entire massive eBook library, so it's gotta be something special about her. (new theory - Dalinar married the Nightwatcher and he went to the valley to get divorced. But she actually annulled the union, so his memory was stripped away, because an annulment means the marriage never happened or something. If it was a divorce, he would remember her.)
  11. Aw, Braizenation. I messed things up. I shall right this wrong by asking of the nightwatcher a boon. GLORIOUS LADY OF THE NIGHT! I BEG OF YOU THE POWER TO CONTROL THE VOLUME OF MY VOICE! (Also, Hoidhunter - you could resize it, and if that doesn't work, well at least i tried. Thanks for the upvote!)
  12. Granted. HOWEVER. In true Nightwatcher spirit, every person you meet looks like they are made of cucumbers. EDIT: to clarify, this DOES affect pictures, including ones of Fett. But you should be fine, because helmets armor and clothing look the same.
  13. Granted, but they are all children's historical fiction. The bane is each and every one of the infinite books has one of those square hidey holes for guns like in the movies, and the guns are plastic cap guns, so that really sucks for you.
  14. So that's why the creator doesn't do anything... He is adonalsium, and is to busy being dead and shattered!
  15. No problem, gancho. Don't worry to much about it. And Welcome to the Shard! One warning though: don't eat the cookies. You'll understand why as you read more mistborn, but in the meantime, let's just say they are not the tasty treats you are looking for. How about some chouta?
  16. Granted, the real night watcher retires without training you. As a side effect, all her spren retire with her, including wyndle, so lift can no longer summon her awesomeness, you jerk. The actual bane is now you see the world upside down and swirled around and twisted. Try getting used to that.
  17. Well, Gollum did fall into Mount Doom, which is obviously Saurons Shardpool. And who else do we know that uses shardpools to world hop? And collects magical artifacts of great power? Calling it now, Gollum is Hoid.
  18. Granted. Welcome to the Dothraki Sea. I wish I could go back... To the FUTURE.
  19. Granted. But that's because they were melted by rainwater from the two highstorms and an everstorm colliding in your yard. I wish I were a voidspren.
  20. that would completely change the nature of this question on Quora: You get 10 million dollars, but for the rest of your life, there is a super snail following you, trying to kill you, what would you do? . I mean, imagine what it could do with the speed it could store! You'd have a few years of no worry, but maybe you go far away just in case, and then BAM! Shell in the face!
  21. It doesn't, and actually makes him less vulnerable, as a good knock to the face could let him swallow a gold (for example) tooth and get ten times the delicious healing (for example) he was putting in it as a metalmind. Looking at your post again, I think we're in agreement for the most part. I was just saying "Inquisitors seeing him vulnerable" is wrong because he was not vulnerable even then. Ignore everything else you might think i meant.
  22. He looked vulnerable, yes, But if an inquisitor decided to pull a Marsh inside the Hut of Agecension (that's what I'm calling it now), TLR could probably crush him without even going young again, which he could totally have done if he had to. Plus, Inquisitors were super-special-extra loyal due to a combo of the background check and TLR's own use of the hemalurgic mind-control weakness on them. So the rebel inquisitor would have to fight both the other inquisitors in the room, TLR Himself (at full power), and his own brain. Not gonna work.
  23. Hi all, being new here, I just discovered this topic on alternative bakery products, and it got me thinking - Can a Feruchemist use fillings or braces or any metal touching the teeth and nothing else use them as a metalmind? As long as they are the right metal obviously. For that matter, what about using fillings as Hemalurgic spikes? would there be any bind points in the teeth? I would request the communities thoughts on this matter of utmost import.
  24. I agree, there was a ton going on, but it's been too long since I read any of it to make further judgement (like is there too much going on or whatever), beyond the stuff I said about Egwene's prologue in the YA volume. Once I finish words of Radiance I'll give Wheel of Time another go and tell y'all my thoughts on trying to get back into it.
