"I woke up in some world I'd never seen before on a strange stone pedistal...that's when I realized I had lost my memory. There was nothing but grass for miles, but I found a strange temple, and at the top, a god calling himself "Zelos". He...apparently knows Saar, and wants to give you a better offer."

Bookwyrm held out the chip for Insa. "He said you would know how to use this."

Insa narrowed her eyes and grabbed the chip examining it.

"What sort of god?"

"Well...he called himself the God of Jealousy, but other than that I have no information."

Insa stared at Bookwyrm skeptically for a moment.

You appeared out of nowhere after disappearing for months with a perfectly timed counter offer from some god I’ve never heard of or met and you expect me to believe that you don’t remember what happened while you were gone?

She turned to Lerac. “Do you want to see if this counter offer is worth anything?”

Did she send that to him?

Bookwyrm hesitated.

...After that, I guess no, I shouldn't. But...it's true...can I show you?

How?

He closed his eyes and opened his mind to Insa's letting her see his memories. His memories of the grassy field, of the mysterious temple, of the strange god, and...of the haunting, unknown void that just sat there before. With only glimpses of emotion peeking through, but not context with which to ground them.

Insa shot him a glare.

Fine. You don’t remember anything.
Do you think we can trust that god?

I don't think it's safe to fully trust him. But I know we can't trust Saar. We might as well see what he has to say.

The wave of guilt came back, stronger this time. He wondered if Insa felt it in his mind.

Insa felt the guilt but decided to ignore it.

Okay but the ultimately I’m gonna leave this up to Lerac. It’ll effect him the most.

Lerac shrugged. "I suppose. If there's a chance of taking a less dangerous option, I'd much prefer that. Though of course, I doubt we can trust either much at all.'

“Well then we’ll talk to him.” She held out the chip. “This will bring us to him. Probably similarly to Saar’s. And in my experience most gods like to make deals in formal settings. So they might attempt to make you fit the setting.”

“I found myself in evening gown when we talked to Saar. As did Aventine. Granted if you have a connection to a divine being they can prevent or lessen that sort of change.”

"...Alright."

You can handle it if it's an issue?

Yes. Though I might advise discretion; if I can avoid revealing myself, that would be best.

I thought the same thing. Just take over if I'm in danger.

Insa took a deep breath and flicked the chip into the air.

Once again it flew a few feet into the air before hovering. She snapped rapidly four times and then it fell.

As it hit the ground the world exploded in a blinding flash of white.

When the regained sight they were in the gardens at the base of the temple. Zelos sat a short ways off on a picnic blanket with a spread of food in front of him. This time their regular clothes had been replaced with something slightly more formal but still very similar to their regular clothing.

A wide smile spread across Zelos' face as he saw them. "Oh good! You found your friends!"

"...Yes."

Bookwyrm looked warily around. He gazed out at the infinite-seeming plane of grass leading to the horizon. It unnerved him.

"Let's talk!"

Insa glanced at Bookwyrm and then grabbed his hand before moving towards Zelos.

I'm still mad by the way.

Lerac followed tensely.

I assume Zelos wouldn't know who Lerac is?

He has an idea. Cause he’s heard about the deal Saar proposed but otherwise no he doesn’t know who he is.
