How so?

"Uh . . ."

Clearly magic is not a new thing here, she thought to herself. First the nurse, now the front desk guy. Not to mention the gaping hole in the middle of the building . . .

But at the same time, she'd only met this guy like, half an hour ago . . .

She shrugged. "Guess is depends on what's wrong with him?"

You could ask, I suppose…

The rash does not recede, and it seems not all the light came back. “I do; the corrupted spellsteel that eats magic ate the magic. What should we do about it?”

This magic isn’t necessarily her magic it’s more like she pulls a little power from a god. In this case a medicine or healing god. So her taking it back doesn’t actually into her just out of him. So it won’t affect her.

Try to explain it as we go cause other wise I don’t think I’ll process it right.

Clinic: Infirmary

Ella nodded. She turned to a cabinet and pulled out a container and dropped the gold light into it.

“Well, I’m not quite sure how to deal with that stuff and it doesn’t quite sound like you do either. But I know we still need to take care of the bones. Which the best way I have is to wrap them. We have a type of wrap that does similar things to the magic it builds and repairs damaged parts of a body like broken bones but it’s technology rather than magic. Do you think that would be okay?”

Zelos’ Temple

Zelos nodded.

"Saar's offer was to leave them alone, and take away her magic, which is currently afflicting me."

The corruption sort of forces magical sources open, then takes them and mixes them together to make more of itself. I don’t think it can actually spread on a god, though; it’s physically changing Veer to spellsteel.

“That would work, I assume. But how is that possible? You can heal people without using magic?”

"That's not what I'm worried about . . ."

She stepped timidly into the room.

"H-hi," she said, waving awkwardly.

@InfiniteInsanity @Dragonheir

Veer, lying down on the hospital bed and half covered in grey metal, nods. “Hello. Are you injured too? I can wait.”

"Oh. N-no, I'm not injured," she said quickly. "I wanted to- well I thought maybe I-I could . . . help?" she said quietly.

Veer nods. “If you could, that would be invaluable. Don’t worry, as long as you don’t touch whatever this is, and I don’t melt down again, you’ll be fine.”

"Well . . . what is it, specifically?" She paused.

“It is spellsteel. Or, something that should be spellsteel. Instead of focusing my magic, it’s eating it.”

"So . . . it takes magic? Is that all it does?"

“It takes magic and it makes you use it. It changes the magic, lets you do things that aren’t possible, but you can’t control it. A King’s advisor grabbed me, and caused it somehow. It started as itching, but when I use magic - when it makes me use magic - it grows. That’s all I know so far. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

"So . . . it is magical, then? The metal?"

She walked to the side of the bed.

Who's the doorman?

A fox in a superhero costume and a... Er, fox-like dog-rabbit-esque... Thing, walks in.

Both are covered in red fluid.

“Yes. Even normal spellsteel can only be created with magic. Whatever this is is very magical.”

Aora beamed inwardly. "I think I can help," she said, grinning slightly.

"So if I can't touch it directly . . . could I use gloves?"

“Of course you can heal people without magic.” Ella laughed. “Have you ever been to Earth?”

She watched them interact for a moment.

”You can keep talking and figuring out this magic stuff.” She pointed to Veer. “I’m going to try to get this on you. When you say you can’t be touched you mean like skins contact right?”

A sign on the desk read “Be back soon”

Quote

Oh for the love of sandwiches!

The hero pulls out a tin of scrambled eggs with mayonnaise, mustard and cheese, and digs in. The ambiguous, cute thing starts searching for something.

Mead bush is approached by a weird, silvery... Mammal...?

"Can I have that?"

"You wanna try this?"

Mead hands this stranger a bottle of Hot sauce, then takes it back when they try pouring it on themselves.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?"

"Trying to prevent things from eating me; I'm made of food."

"oh. Well, good thing I'm a dragon."

Mead douses the silver thing in dragon "flame", they don't seem to mind.

"Oh, wait, that probably-"

"Doesn't hurt."

"Ah, that's ...convenient..."
