A pulse of force extends from Veer, tearing up pieces of the concrete floor and pulling bars from the cells close to the stairs. Veer’s teeth are gritted as he focuses on not blasting the now-floating objects away from him. Colors are missing from the area around his shoulder, and grey metal creeps up his neck and down his arm.
A sort of aura of voided color surrounds him, and another pulse of force surges out of him, destroying floor, roof, walls, and stairs in a perfectly circular area, except for the occupied cells. The material of the destroyed sphere floats around him in an almost protective formation. Veer cries out as he levitates off the ground and shreds his way through several floors of Clinic.

"What was that?"

Saar nodded from her seat.

There was another bright flash of light and they were back in the library.

Insa took a moment to regain her bearings.

”Any thoughts?”

"How likely is it that she'll hold to those terms?

I don't know if Saar could or would make his pain worse or afflict him in some other way to try and get them to do it, but that could be an option for conflict for the 2 days before the decision happens.

She could and she would. It would be slow building thing. But she’ll give them a bit before she does.

“For your sake most likely.”

"Like I said, I'll be fine. I can deal with it, or find an alternate solution."

Insa thought for a moment. “We don’t have an alternative at the moment. Plus the fact that she gave us time makes it seem like she’s at least a little desperate.” Insa walked over to a desk and sat down at one of the chairs. “We should try to find out anything else about the item or the temple in this library.” She motioned to a couple of screens built into the desk. “These work like tablets. They have access to everything  in the library. If there’s anything in here about the temple or the item it should come up when you search. I’m gonna look over some stuff to see if I missed something that could tell us where Bookwyrm is. He might have something more than we can find here. Plus he’s almost always been a voice of reason when it comes to Saar. He might actually have better insight than I do. I’ll have to grab stuff from my room to do though. Is that okay?”

If they look stuff up they’d probably be able to find a little about the obstacles (which I don’t have a full idea about yet so you would be able to maybe make some stuff up).

For Lerac the pain is going to start to increase. It would go in like waves I guess. It’s start to hurt more at the scar then spreads out from there. And then once it’s fully spread it would increase again in the same way.

She nodded and typed “Ivus” into the search menu.

Lerac watched as they begun. He opened his mouth again as though to make another objection, but then stopped with a flinch. He touched the scar again.

Insa gave him a weird look before rushing out of the library.

She practically ran all the way to her room. Near her bed was a bag with her tablet in it. She grabbed the tablet out and sat down on her bed. She turned it on real quick to check the battery. 47%. It should be enough to last her a little while. Her eyes drifted down to her screensaver. It was a picture Bookwyrm and Insa had taken a few nights before he had left.

She reached out mentally to try to find him again. What did I do wrong? Why did you leave?

She turned the tablet back off and rushed back to the library.

”Lerac are you sure you’re okay? I can try to find some pain killers or something?”

"I'm fine." It was hard to tell whether or not he was being genuine.

@The Bookwyrm

???

Bookwyrm.

Sensation returned from the blackness of unconsiousness. The feel of cool, smooth stone beneath his hands and face. He was lying facedown somewhere.

Bookwyrm, wake up.

He became aware of a warm sun above him, and a gentle breeze that drifted around him. He groaned and shifted slightly, opening his eyes to what seemed like a blinding light.

There we go... Where have you been?

Bookwyrm shifted onto his hands and knees as his eyes adjusted, revealing a grassy field all around him. He knelt on a circular stone pedestal that rose from the ground slightly.

"...What do you mean?"

You've been gone for months.

Bookwyrm opened his mouth to reply, then hesitated. Something wasn't right.

"...I remember being with Insa, and Saar....but then...something happened. I had to do something important. I remember a vauge sense of purpose...being unable to return...and some kind of danger."

You...really don't remember where you've been?

Bookwyrm shook his head. "I'd tell you if I did." He paused. "...Wait, could you not hear me?"

A sense of confusion and concern came through his connection with Astwyr along with the reply: No.

"That shouldn't be able to happen."

I know.

Bookwyrm stood up. He wore his blue cloak and travelling tunic. A mental check showed nothing was restricting any of his abilities.

Except the one that would let him get home...

Months...I've been gone for months.

He surveyed the grassy plain.

I need to find a way out of here.

Insa frowned and squinted a little trying to read him better.

She sat down at the table.

"Are you fine or are you barely managing but don't want to admit it?"

Insa gave a small nod. “Please let me know if it gets worse. We can try to find something to help you manage the pain until we can get rid of it.”

She turned her tablet back on and pulled up the library’s database, which she had downloaded months ago when she had started doing research on something else.

She typed “Yulin temple” into the search bar.

Insa didn't look up. "You still should say something if the pain gets worse."

She slowly scrolled through the results on her tablet.

"I'm not seeing anything in direct reference to the temple. But its referenced several times in relation to other temples, as in built around the same time or by the same group of people."
