"Not currently. But you can just deal with me." He felt a tug at his mind that he knew to be Death advising caution. Not because this was dangerous, but because dealing with external gods was not something his master wanted brought to him. I'll try not to be antagonistic.

The hawk chortled happily.

She did know. But she had a feeling Insa wouldn’t want her to say. She shook her head.

Saar smiled. “I see. Well I need to talk to her and her stupid boyfriend but he cut off my connection to her so I’ll have to talk to her in person.” She opened her hand. In her hand sat what looked like a little black poker chip. “I could use your help finding her. When you see her give her this and let her know I need to talk to her.”

"What's the chip for?"

“I need something. I want them to help me get it. If they agree I’ll leave them alone.” She pointed to the scar. “I’ll take that away. The pain and such is only going to disappear temporarily. And there are other things I’m willing to offer them.”

“But at the price of taking her pain on yourself.” Saar shrugged. “If they agree I’ll take the magic back. You won’t have that anymore. They’ll probably need help. You people always work in groups.”

"I can deal with pain. And lately, I work alone. Why should I go along with this, and bring her into something she doesn't need to be involved with?"

How old is she?

Saar laughed. “I don’t think you understand.  If I could get this item myself I would. If I could send someone to get this solely by themselves I would. I’m all about people working alone. I think it’s the best way. But in this case it isn’t possible.” She nodded at the poker chip. “If you could do it yourself my proposal would be extended to you and you alone. But it can’t. Insa and Bookwyrm would be powerful allies in this case. But they aren’t going to be willing to just help.”

Sorry, forgot to hit post apparently. Did you see my question on my last post?

"Why should I be willing to help you?"

“My magic is still in you. And seeing as how you’ve ruined my plans I’m really not feeling very generous. I’m afraid this is the only way you’re going to get that taken care of.”

She’s like middle aged for an immortal being? Not like young but definitely not old of that makes sense.

“I won’t do anything. Unused magic like that  tends to almost form a mind of its own. And generally it doesn’t seem very happy.”

In that case, if she's familiar enough with Death (which she could be, since he's a very major deity) she might have known of his last avatar, who was a king in life and was magically powerful, but who had no connections to life magic at all. Lerac might be surprising to her in that way. Up to you if you want her to be familiar, it could be interesting either way.

“Look. I understand that. I understand that you are allied with a very powerful being. But you do still have limits and whatever route you choose to take you will have your limits tested. And I still would appreciate it if you would still take that to Insa so I can talk to her.”

Saar looked them both over again.
“I must say that whatever you choose and whatever path you take I wish you both the best.” And with that she disappeared.

"I don't know about this," she told Lerac.
