Aora had been so startled by the man that she hadn't even noticed the hawk outside her door until now.

"Oh. Hi there," she said to the hawk. Strange place for a hawk to be.

"What're you doing in here, little guy?" She bent down to look at the hawk better.

He chirped playfully and flew up to perch on her shoulder.

In front of Lerac and Aventine, a tall blonde stern looking woman materialized.

She looked them both over thoroughly.

"Who are you?" She spoke almost as if she was disgusted by their presence.

She flinched slightly backwards.

She straightened, "They call me Saar, goddess of storms."

"Who are you?"

"I am Lerac, avatar of Death."

Saar gave him a small nod.

She turned to Aventine. "And you?"

@Spark of Hope

"I'm- Aventine."

Ig Spirit and my own characters are about.

Aora and Par, I think was the guy's name.

Par was supposed to be following Veer, but walked away. The people who cut his finger off came after him and we captured them. Veer is lost, though, so he’s looking for someone who isn’t Spirit.

A man holding two guns in one hand, trailed by two (maybe three) other people walks past in the hall. “Do any of you know where containment cells are?” he asks, still walking.

Aora was surprised, and the hawk's talons dug into her shoulder almost painfully.

But it was really cute.

"Is this your bird?" she asked the man.

"N-no? Sorry."

The hawk perceived this and loosened its grip, but still held on.

I can be my own bird, thank you very much, it said playfully in her head. It was the doorman's voice that spoke.

Aora blinked. "Oh. Um. Hello then." She'd not been expecting that.

“I’m Par! That man over there.” He looked over, frowning. They were gone. “Well, he was there. He taught me that everything has a price.”

"Oh. Okay." She thought about what he'd said earlier. "Wait, are you saying that man took your finger as a price for something else?"

He nodded. “I worked with horses. When one of them collapsed, he told me I had cost him a looot of money.”

Horse races.

Ah

"So . . . he took your finger as payment for the horse dying?" That doesn't make much sense.

“It didn’t die! It just collapsed when running with the others. He said, I think I’m quoting, ‘I had a lot of money on that race’”

"So he lost a bet and cut off your finger because of something that was out of your control? That's just cruel and unnecessary."

"I healed someone who you had afflicted." Lerac pointed to the new scar on his neck.

“Hm.” She stared at scar for a moment. “Well. Do you know where she is?”
