The Bookwyrm he/him Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 6 hours ago, Channelknight Fadran said: "I think I heard... from someone..." Kaeni began to weave around her words a tad carefully. "There's a gateway shrine down south that we can use. A lot of people arrived for training here from that way, I think." Avi smiled. "Sounds interesting." She looked down at the black mark on her palm. "Though we probably can't really 'try out' our Scythes..."
Channelknight Fadran Posted February 21, 2023 Author Posted February 21, 2023 Kaeni stuffed the last of her dumplings into her face, chowed down rapidly, then swallowed with the force of one of those star explosionis. A deep swig of water later and "Mhm! All ready to go!"
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Il'anque continued walking.
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 The gateway was atop a hill, made of old mossy stones and surrounded by (mostly) empty plates of various metals. The entire hillside was clean and well-kept save for a small circle around the arch itself, which was riddled with tall grass and weeds. Past that the offering plates were each cleaned and shining, completely clear of even old rainwater or dust. Two wisened individuals, both some kind of human, waited at either side of the archway. They were hooded in deep grey cloaks, clutching gnarled staffs etched with faintly-glowing runes. Kaeni suddenly dropped out of her peppy, childish demeanor. She slipped behind As'tavi. "Um... you do the talking."
The Bookwyrm he/him Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 "Me?" Avi said, looking at Kaeni with confusion. "I...what? Why me?"
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Il'anque walked up to the guards. "Hello!"
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 The one on the right glanced up at Il'anque, eyes sunken and covered in wrinkly bags. "Good day, young Reaper."
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 "Is this the gateway to the training grounds?"
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 10, 2023 Author Posted March 10, 2023 "This is a gateway to all things, seen and unseen."
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 "And... are the training grounds included by that?"
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 10, 2023 Author Posted March 10, 2023 "Il?" Kaeni raised her hand a little. "Um... why do you want to go there?"
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 10, 2023 Author Posted March 10, 2023 "I dunno. Where is there to go?"
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 "Well, we'd have to ask them to know."
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 (edited) "The many worlds are open to your whim, young masters." Now it was the woman that spoke. "Is it to become lost that you seek? We can send you to many places where few have wandered. They are yours to explore." @NerdyAarakocra @The Bookwyrm Edited March 14, 2023 by Channelknight Fadran
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 "If you have seen it in your wildest of dreams, child."
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Il'anque gave Kaeni and Avi a look that said Yeah, no. You handle this.
The Bookwyrm he/him Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Avi didn't notice the look. She was staring at the gateway. A thought had occurred to her. I could go home. One step through that gate, and she'd be back on her homeworld...back near her city... Back where she'd lost it all....
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 21, 2023 Author Posted March 21, 2023 "Let's go to... um... Atanus!"
